Germany predicted lineup for UEFA Euro 2024
The German players will be under pressure to perform in front of their fans.
Germany are one of the contenders to win the upcoming 2024 UEFA European Football Championship considering they are the hosts of the tournament. The onus will be on the players to stop a recent trend of poor showing by Die Mannschaft in international competitions such as the FIFA World Cup and the Euros.
As the host nation, the German national team will enjoy a slight advantage over other competitors but it also adds extra pressure to perform. However, looking at the squad picked by former FC Bayern Munich and current German men’s national team manager Julian Nagelsmann, there is a brilliant mix of experience and youthful exuberance in the team.
Many of the players in the German squad such as Florian Wirtz, Toni Kroos and more have enjoyed a successful season for their respective clubs. They will be hoping to replicate those performances on the international stage and deliver a record-breaking fourth European title. With such high stakes on the line, here is a look at how Nagelsmann will field the host nation which aims to win the ultimate glory.
Germany Predicted Lineup (Formation 4-3-3):
GK – Manuel Neuer
Germany is stacked in the goalkeeper’s department. Manuel Neuer started ahead of Marc-Andre ter Stegen in a recent friendly against Ukraine and is likely to start for the outfit in the UEFA Euro as well.
RB – Joshua Kimmich
Joshua Kimmich is arguably one of the best full-backs in the world. He is exceptional with his defensive work and loves to make darting runs in the attacking third and deliver crosses for his teammates. He will be one of the first names on the teamsheet.
CB – Antonio Rudiger
Antonio Rudiger had a brilliant season with Real Madrid, winning the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League and LaLiga. The centre-back played extensively for Los Blancos and is set to take his place in Germany’s backline at the Euros.
CB – Jonathan Tah
Jonathan Tah was a rock in defence for Bayer Leverkusen all season long where the club created history by winning the German Bundesliga without tasting a single defeat. The 28-year-old will look to help Germany win the UEFA Euro by keeping opposition attackers at bay.

Maximilian Mittelstadt was a brilliant performer for VFB Stuttgart in their hugely impressive Bundesliga season where the club finished in second place. The left-back earning a call-up to the national team is thoroughly deserved and is set to take his place in the starting lineup.
CM – Pascal Gross
Pascal Gross brings a lot of qualities to the table and that ensures him a place in Germany’s starting lineup. The midfielder had 151 touches of the ball and completed 130 out of 134 attempted passes for the German team. He will be a key figure if Nagelsmann and Co are to come away with the trophy.
CM – Toni Kroos
The 2024 UEFA Euro will be the last tournament Toni Kroos plays for Germany before his retirement. Expectedly, the emotions will be high in the team and amongst the fans who bid farewell to a legend. The midfielder won the UEFA Champions League in his last ever game with Real Madrid and would like to end his international career in the same way, with a trophy.

LW – Florian Wirtz
Florian Wirtz was the driving force behind Bayer Leverkusen winning the German Bundesliga and DFB Pokal. The attacker is extremely versatile and can score from multiple angles and distances or create scoring opportunities for his teammates in the most challenging situations. He will be a definite starter for Germany.
CAM – Ilkay Gundogan
Ilkay Gundogan will be captaining the German team at the 2024 UEFA Euro. The FC Barcelona midfielder will be central to Germany’s chances of winning the tournament. He knows what it takes to win trophies and has the mentality to lead a side which is under immense pressure.
ST – Kai Havertz
Havertz started one of the matches in the last International window as a left-wing back, but manager Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that Kai Havertz will start the tournament as the striker. The Arsenal star will be looking to lead the hosts into some sort of success in the tournament.
