Ghana announce squad for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in June 2024; Mohammed Kudus included

The Black Stars squad have two fresh faces
The Ghana national football team squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 African Qualifiers in June is out. Head coach Otto Addo has chosen his 26-man team including fresh faces Brandon Thomas-Asante and Ibrahim Sulemana.
Ghana so far have a win and a defeat after having played two games of the World Cup qualifiers back in November 2023. The opening one was against Madagascar, a 1-0 win and the second against Comoros saw a 1-0 defeat.
The Black Stars now find themselves in the fourth spot in Group I. Apart from the aforementioned two opponents, Mali, Chad and the Central African Republic complete the group. In June, Otto Addo’s men will be first taking on the Mali national football team. Then after four days, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, they will be hosting the Central African Republic.
The squad will see two unfamiliar faces. Thomas-Asante of West Brom and Sulemana of Cagliari are yet to feature for the national side. Among the star players, we have Tariq Lamptey in defence, Mohammed Kudus and Thomas Partey in midfield and in the attack Antoine Semenyo from Premier League side Bournemouth.
Kudus will be the main man. For West Ham, in the league, the 23-year-old attacking midfielder crafted six assists while also scoring a total of eight goals this season.
