Euro 2024 will kick off on Friday 14 June

Turkey make the trip to the Renato Dall’Ara to take on Italy in an International Friendly on Tuesday. Both sides will be looking for a win to give them momentum going into the Euro 2024. Following a somewhat shaky qualifying campaign, Italy looks to grab a big win over Turkey to put themselves on the front foot going into the tournament this summer. Italy will compete in Group B against Spain, Croatia and Albania at the European Championships.

Turkey were one of the big shocks of the qualifying campaign after they finished top of Group D. Joined by Croatia, Wales, Armenia and Latvia, Turkey picked up five wins, two draws and one loss in eight games, leaving them on 17 points, just one point above Croatia. Turkey find themselves in Group F alongside Georgia, Portugal and the Czech Republic. This will be an exciting clash to watch for sure.

Giacomo Raspadori (Italy)

He is always on the move, rarely standing still. His starting position is typically quite high to pin the defensive line back and reduce the compactness of the defending team. Despite his small stature, he is only 5’7, he can retain the ball very well under pressure. He both presses well and cuts off passing lanes intelligently through curved runs; his technique, he’s comfortable shooting off both feet.

Kenan Yildiz (Turkey)

Kenan Yıldız is a right-footed attacking midfielder, he’s excellent at receiving the ball on the half-turn, which is a highly important skill for a high-end playmaker. He’s not as pacey as a traditional winger, but the youngster has a burst of acceleration that allows him to beat his man and carry forward powerfully.
