The players of the Nerazzurri dominate the lineup after guiding their side to a dominating title-winning season
Inter Milan was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition in the 2023-24 Italian Serie A as they raced to win the title leaving all of their competitors behind battling for other positions. The players of the Nerazzurri were simply outstanding as they guided the team to undisputed success and a 20th league title.
However, in addition to the Inter Milan squad, players from other clubs in the division were also impressive. Their consistent performances throughout the 2023-24 season played a key role in helping their respective clubs achieve seasonal objectives and surpass them in some cases. These were the players who delivered when it mattered and shone brightly even in gloomy times.
As another highly entertaining Italian Serie A season comes to an end, here is a look at Khel Now’s 2023-24 Team of the Season from the league competition:
Formation: 3-5-2

GK – Yann Sommer (Inter Milan)
The mood was not the most positive in the Inter Milan fanbase after the club replaced Andre Onana with Yann Sommer at the start of the season. However, the 35-year-old silenced any doubts over his arrival and finished with 19 clean sheets, the most in the division.
RCB – Benjamin Pavard (Inter Milan)
Benjamin Pavard had a successful second half of the 2023-24 season. The defender consistently delivered flawless performances for Inter Milan. He made 42 clearances and 32 interceptions, helping the club record seven clean sheets.
CB – Alessandro Buongiorno (Torino)
Alessandro Buongiorno is on the transfer list of several high-profile Italian and European clubs after his stellar defensive performances for Torino. He made 67 interceptions, the most by a defender in the Serie A and also recorded 125 clearances.
LCB – Riccardo Calafiori (Bologna)
Riccardo Calafiori was one of the most surprising breakout stars from the 2023-24 Serie A campaign. The 22-year-old was a mainstay in Bologna’s defence and played a central role in helping the club attain qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

CM – Leandro Paredes (AS Roma)
Leandro Paredes was ever so hardworking in AS Roma’s midfield, often directing gameplay and helping the defence whenever needed. The 29-year-old also delivered on the attacking front with three goals and five assists.
CM – Teun Koopmeiners (Atalanta)
Teun Koopmeiners had one of his most stellar campaigns during the 2023-24 term. The Netherlands international scored 12 goals and provided five assists from the midfield to help the side finish fifth in the Serie A and secure the UEFA Europa League title in the process.
RW – Paulo Dybala (AS Roma)
Paulo Dybala secured 13 goals and provided nine assists in a brilliant season for AS Roma. His tally of nine assists made him the joint-highest playmaker in the competition. Delivering 22 goal contributions from 27 league appearances made a huge difference in allowing Roma to finish in one of the spots for Europe next season.
LW – Rafael Leao (AC Milan)
Rafael Leao entertained the fans thoroughly during the 2023-24 season with his masterful performances from the left flank. He provided nine assists, joint most in the competition and also scored eight goals for the side.
CAM – Hakan Calhanoglu (Inter Milan)
Hakan Calhanoglu emerged as one of the most consistent and outstanding performers from the 2023-24 season of Serie A. The 30-year-old scored 13 goals for the Nerazzurri and provided three assists. He was a constant threat with his set-piece deliveries, penetrative through balls and shooting from range.
ST – Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan)
Lautaro Martinez truly led Inter Milan’s charge for the title from the front, leading by example. The striker won the Golden Boot award, scoring 24 goals from 33 appearances and also provided three assists in the process.
ST – Marcus Thuram (Inter Milan)
Marcus Thuram also had a prolific 2023-24 season for Inter Milan upfront. The striker produced 20 goal contributions (13 goals and seven assists) from 34 appearances for the club in the Serie A.
