Toni Kroos says Vinicius Jr's behaviour hurts Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid midfielder and club legend Toni Kroos has stated that ace Vinicius Jr.’s attitude and demeanour on the field may get out of hand at times and impact the squad.
The 25-year-old attacker has always drawn criticism for his on-field antics, which don’t always sit well with opponents and supporters.
The Brazilian was recently in the spotlight after his furious outburst at his own boss, Xabi Alonso, after his substitution against FC Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Toni Kroos calls out Vinicius Jr.’s on-field antics

Toni Kroos, who retired in 2024, revealed that while they played together, Vinicius’ actions, gestures, provocations, and altercations with opponents and supporters had disturbed him.
“At that point, I told him many times that it was enough, because you get the feeling that his behaviour ends up hurting the team. It’s understandable that it can annoy people, whether it’s an opponent, a referee or the crowd,” Kroos said, as quoted by AS.
According to Kroos, these conflicts impacted the group’s performance rather than remaining an individual problem. The former midfielder claimed that the atmosphere in the locker room was evident.
He further added: “As a team, you get the impression that everything is turning against the group because of what is happening around them.”
Kroos continued by saying that he frequently attempted to calm Vinicius during games in order to safeguard the Brazilian’s performance as well as the team’s dynamic.
“I tried many times to calm him down on the pitch, especially so that he wouldn’t lose his rhythm, because sometimes that happened. I always told him: ‘You’re so good that you don’t need all that’,” he concluded.
