Ukraine drew 0-0 with Belgium.

With four points, Ukraine became the first country in history to miss out on the knockout stages. After a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt, Slovakia and Romania advanced to the next round of competition. Belgium secured the second position in the group with a goalless draw against Ukraine at the same time.

Ukraine ended the group phase with four points from one victory, one loss, and one draw, however, they were eliminated since they placed last in the group on goal differential.

Although having more points than certain squads that have advanced to the round of sixteen, Ukraine has been relegated from Euro 2024.

The result of Group E more than lived up to the captivating nature of Euro 2024, which has been an incredible competition thus far.

In the group’s final games on Wednesday afternoon, Slovakia played Romania and Ukraine played Belgium. A fierce battle to get to the round of sixteen was set up as all four teams entered the final day tied on three points.

The peculiarity of Ukraine finishing the competition with four points is that two teams may advance to the round of 16 even if they only received three points during the group stage.

This is due to the fact that Slovenia and Hungary are currently poised to qualify as two of the top four third-place teams. From their three group games, each player received three points.

When Group F’s last games are played on Wednesday, that situation might alter, but the four strongest third-place nations will all have at least one team that earned three points during the group stages.
