Leverkusen have a DFB-Pokal final on the horizen

There is a new WWE Undisputed Champion in town. Guess who? No, it’s not Cody Rhodes or any other superstar for the record.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is well known around the globe for running entertaining wrestling shows. Most of you might have heard or watched WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown while growing up. Nevertheless, the same WWE has gifted the Undisputed Championship title to the 2023-24 season’s Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen.

It is a custom-made belt that has the Leverkusen logo on both sides with the text ‘2023-2024 Bundesliga Champions’. This goes to show that though both are completely different universes, one admires the other.

Leverkusen had an amazing 2023-24 in the Bundesliga particularly. Xabi Alonso’s men went on to play the entire 34 league game fixtures without ever suffering a single defeat. This run included 28 wins along with 6 draws, here and there.

This was a historic moment as no other club in German history had achieved this undefeated record to win the first-tier league title. Thus, WWE decided to gift them a custom-made ‘Undisputed Champion’ belt to mark this feat.

The Die Werkself were on an excellent undefeated run of 51 games in all competitions before going into the UEFA Europa League finals just yesterday. Atalanta who were the opponents on the night ended up thrashing Alonso’s men with a 3-0 scoreline. This ended their unbeaten run while also ending their hopes of clinching a treble this season.

Anyway, the season is still far from over. Leverkusen have no time to think about the UEL final loss as they will be playing another final tomorrow. The Bundesliga champs will play in the DFB-Pokal final against FC Kaiserslautern. Kaiserslautern is a second-division German side.

In the social media post by Triple H, former wrestler, currently chief content officer and head of creative for WWE, where he released the custom title for Leverkusen, we have also seen good luck wishes for the aforementioned German Cup final.
