There is no doubt that 2025 is shaping up to be one of the best years for video games. So far, we have seen many big releases, such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Avowed, among others. As we move into April, gaming fans have even more to be excited about.
There are some of the best upcoming games set to be released in April, and in this article, we will discuss the top five among them.
5. The Last of US Part 2 (PC)
Although many fans would have not liked the 2nd part if we compare it to the first one, there is still no doubt that The Last of US Part 2 is one of the masterpieces by Naughty Dog studio.
The recent live action series has also released the trailer and the release date for the series. On April 3, 2025, the second part will finally arrive on PC. This part has some of the most satisfying combat in the franchise with a good lore about Ellie and others.
4. South of Midnight
Yet another Xbox exclusive of this year, South of Midnight by Compulsion Games really looks solid for now. This game is set to launch on April 10, 2025 and is definitely one of the best upcoming games in April 2025.
Fans will be able to explore the world of mythos and confront mysterious creatures of the Deep South in this modern folktale while learning to weave an ancient power to surmount obstacles and unravel your family’s hidden past.

3. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
SNK’s popular Fatal Fury series debuted in 1991, kicking off the fighting game boom that swept the industry in the following years.
For a while, the most recent installment in the franchise was GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES (published in 1999). But that’s going to change: 26 years later, a brand-new entry—FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves—is about to hit the scene!
Fans will also see Cristiano Ronaldo making an appearance in this game as well. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is all set to release on April 24, 2025.
2. Forza Horizon 5 (PS5)
One of the best upcoming games of April 2025, Forza Horizon 5 will finally make its debut on PS5. This will mark the first Xbox Game alongside with Indiana Jones games that will arrive on PlayStation.
The game is all set to launch on PS5 on April 29, 2025. Now PlayStation users will also be able to experience the open world landscapes of Mexico with limitless, fun driving action in the world’s greatest cars.
1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is definitely one of the most anticipated and the best upcoming games. This turn-based masterpiece is all set to release on April 24, 2025.
The graphics and combat system look absolutely amazing in this game, but the best thing about this game is the lore. Even though it sounds simple, it immediately hooked me with the story of the game.
Once a year, the Paintress awakens and paints her monolith. Paints the dreaded number. And everyone of that age begins to smoke and fades away. That number is decreasing year after year, and more of us are becoming extinct. Tomorrow, she’ll get up and paint “33.” And tomorrow, we embark on our final mission: destroy the Paintress so she can never paint death again.
