Teams demand action against organizers
Indian Esports scenario is growing rapidly these days. Recently, India is set to make its debut in the FIFAe World Cup 2024. However, when it comes to BGMI, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that everything is in disarray right now.
Many organizations are shutting down and recently, some event and tournament organizers have been scamming underdog teams. Let’s check out more details in this article.

The main issue and ongoing scam of BGMI
To uphold the integrity of the Esports community and ensure a fair safe and transparent environment for all players Krafton has strict prohibitions on unauthorized/ paid event organizers for BGMI.
However many players and especially the underdog teams get lured into these events because of the promises of cash prizes and prize pools. After the event, many found themself victims of scams where thousands, if not lakhs, of rupees are at stake daily.
Beyond financial losses, these actions weaken trust in the Esports community, harm the reputation of aspiring players, and might discourage new talent from entering the competitive scene in BGMI.
Now, if these events are free to play, even if the underdog teams get scammed out of the prize money, they won’t incur any losses. Instead, they will gain valuable practice in a competitive lobby, which will help them prepare for official tournaments. However, if money is involved just to secure a spot to play in these events and then they get scammed, that’s a serious problem.
Community & legal response
It is a very positive development that the teams financially impacted by these scams are now taking a stance and filing complaints against the organizers.
The affected teams have coordinated to submit these scams to the National Cyber Crime Portal, mentioning specific organizations such as URS ESPORTS, LIQUID ESPORTS, and OPTIC ESPORTS, among others.
It is a request that everyone spread awareness about this issue on social media as much as possible so that no underdog teams or players have to face similar issues in the future. What are your thoughts on this and its impact on the BGMI community? Please share your thoughts in the comment section.
