Excitement for the mid-season patch!
Since its launch in December 2025, the NetEase hero shooter game, Marvel Rivals has taken the world and gamers by storm. With a $400,000 esports tournament already in the works, the game’s popularity shows no signs of waning.
But some fans are wondering about whether there will be a PvE mode or not. Let’s check out some more details in this article.
No PvE plans yet
In a recent interview with IGN at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, NetEase producer Weicong Wu discussed the prospect of a PvE mode in Marvel Rivals.
This has been a highly requested feature not only in Marvel Rivals but also in Overwatch 2 as well. This offers a less competitive mode and gives players a way to hone their skills with heroes. Weicong Wu said that currently there are no plans for PvE mode yet.
“For now, we don’t have any kind of a PvE plan, but our development team is continuously experimenting with new gameplay modes,” Wu explained. “So if we find that a new specific game mode is entertaining enough, fun enough, we would of course bring it to our audience.”
Despite the lack of a full-fledged PvE option, NetEase understands the desire. Wu pointed out: “We believe some of our audience would like the PvE mode.” The team is currently looking into options, including a possible “lighter mode” that might serve as an alternative to a standard PvE experience, keeping players involved in a variety of ways.
