The FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place from 29 November to 10 December in Santiago, Chile. World’s top 16 teams will take part in the upcoming edition. Netherlands are the defending champions having won the previous edition after defeating Germany 3-1 in the final. Meanwhile, Indian hockey team finished a heartbreaking fourth after losing to England in the shoot-off.

India’s best result came in the 2013 edition when they won the bronze medal defeating England. The Netherlands have been the most successful team having won the title record four times followed by Argentina and South Korea (twice) and Germany (once).

The upcoming edition of the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2023 will take place from 29 November to 10 December in Santiago, Chile.

Squad

Goalkeepers: Khushboo, Madhuri Kindo

Defenders: Neelam, Preeti, Jyoti Singh, Ropni Kumari

Midfielders: Mahima Tete, Manju Chorsiya, Jyoti Chhatri, Hina Bano, Sujata Kujur, Rutuja Pisal

Groups and Format

A total of 16 teams have qualified for the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup 2023 via various continental qualifiers. The top five teams from 2022 Euro Hockey Junior Championships, top 2 from Junior Oceania Cup, 2023 Junior Africa Cup, top 3 from Junior Pan American Championships, the Junior Asia Cup and the host nation have been qualified for the competition.

The teams are divided into four groups. Each group consists of four teams and the top 2 from each group advance into the knockout rounds. The remaining teams will play the classification matches.

Argentina, South Korea, Spain, Zimbabwe

Group C

Belgium, Canada, Germany, India

Group D

England, Japan, New Zealand, USA
