Many players performed well during this leg.

The third leg of the caravan format of season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10) saw enthralling action with the home team, Puneri Paltan stream rolling past their opponents to top the points table. There is nothing much to separate between Bengal Warriors and Jaipur Pink Panthers in the points table much like when these two clashed off against each other earlier in the league. Haryana Steelers continued to climb up as they are fourth with 20 points.

The Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune witnessed high-octane action with many brilliant individual performances. There is no rocket science that players from the top four teams have produced top-notch performances in the Pune leg and they dominate the ‘Team of the Pune Leg‘.

PKL 10: Team of the Leg:

Raiders

Mohit Goyat (Puneri Paltan)

At the start of the Pune leg, the limelight when Puneri Paltan steps onto the mat has been on Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyanneh and Aslam Inamdar. But one man stole the show when the leg ended with consistent performances. Mohit Goyat has surreptitiously risen the ranks scoring 35 points in four games and was pivotal in making Paltans top the points table.

Vinay (Haryana Steelers)

While Pune and Mohit Goyat might have dominated the league, Haryana is the only side to dominate Puneri Paltan this season. Thanks to Vinay who produced a stunning display against the home team with 15 points. There are star names in the form of Siddharth Desai and Prapanjan in the squad but the star performance came from the 24-year-old as he helped them remain unbeaten in the Pune leg with 24 points.

Amirmohamed Zafardanesh (U Mumba)

Every season throws a youngster and hands down it is Amirmohamed Zafardanesh for PKL 10. The Pune leg once again witnessed his brilliance as he stopped an in-form Patna Pirates team with a 13-point dominating show. Last Sunday witnessed a blockbuster performance against a strong Tamil Thalaivas defense to hand them their heaviest defeat of the season.

All rounder

Mohammadreza Chiyanneh (Puneri Paltan)

Experts raised eyebrows when their season nine skipper Fazel Atrachali who led them almost to the title was released ahead of the Auction. But the buy of Mohammadreza Chiyanneh and his performances has silenced all the critics. With 18 points in four matches, the men in orange have found their hero who might take them to the title that has been eluding them for a decade.

Defenders

Jaideep Dahiya (Haryana Steelers)

If Shadloui is for Pune, it is Jaideep Dahiya for Haryana Steelers who has been the primary essence of the Steelers’ success till now. At Left Cover, he has been a pillar of strength and captaincy helping his team post wins against two top teams Gujarat Giants and Puneri Paltan.

Mohit Nandal (Haryana Steelers)

The phrase ‘Hunt in pairs’ is applicable for multiple sports but nothing better than Kabaddi. In this season, the cover combo of Mohit Nandal and Jaideep Dahiya is putting up a show that could be referred to when someone uses this phrase. The defender has been exceptional in the Right Cover position and his High-five against Gujarat Giants unleashed his potential.

Gaurav Khatri (Puneri Paltan)

Gaurav is a delight not just for the coach who can not worry about the strategy for his position but also for fantasy players as he is consistent in producing tackles and winning points. The corner defender has been a perfect foil for Shadloui as they have not allowed the Raiders to take easy bonuses. His High-five against Maninder & Co. is proof for the same.
