PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in match 44, Bengaluru Bulls vs Bengal Warriorz

Bengaluru Bulls will look for their second consecutive win in PKL 11 against Bengal Warriorz.

The Hyderabad leg of the Pro Kabaddi League 11 (PKL 11) will end with a contest filled with stars. The man with the most raid points in PKL, Pardeep Narwal will be up against the man with the most tackle points in the history of the league, Fazel Atrachali in the match between Bengaluru Bulls and Bengal Warriorz.

Bengaluru Bulls, the season six champions, seemed to have recovered from a disastrous start to the PKL 11, having notched up a couple of wins against Tamil Thalaivas and Dabang Delhi KC. For the season seven champions, it has been a start-stop season, having seen all three results in equal intervals, with two wins, two losses, and two tied matches so far.

Both teams would want to end the PKL 11 Hyderabad leg with a win and the franchises have a similar problem to counter with. Their superstar Raiders Pardeep Narwal and Maninder Singh hasn’t been anywhere close to their best. More than for their respective teams, the Kabaddi fans would want these two to perform as they have done over the past decade.

With them and many more stars in both squads, the match presents some of the best one-on-one battles which could be fascinating to watch. Here are the top three battles that will keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

Ajinkya Pawar vs Fazel Atrachali

Bengaluru Bulls made a tough call in the last PKL 11 match as they benched Pardeep Narwal for the match and hence the responsibility of the lead raider was on Ajinkya Pawar. The Do-or-Die specialist had a point to prove against his former franchise Tamil Thalaivas, and he did it in style to take them to an all-important victory. The right raider will look to carry on the momentum in PKL 11.

His challenger for the night will be the Sultan, Fazel Atrachali. The Iranian has walked the talk this season with his aggressive style of play. His last PKL 11 match saw a wonderful battle with Ashu Malik, where he was injured badly only to return to the mat to fight for his team. The Warriorz skipper will be with the same zeal and Ajinkya has to be at the top of his match to steal points from Fazel.

Maninder Singh vs Saurabh Nandal

Almost a similar decision was taken in the Bengal Warriorz dugout as Maninder spent most of his time on the sidelines in his previous PKL 11 match. He is expected to be in the starting seven in thematch. The Mighty Mani is looking to boost his confidence and the match against Bengaluru Bulls could just serve him the same.

Standing at the right corner is Saurabh Nandal who will look to disrupt Maninder’s bid to gain confidence. Ironically, Saurabh has been struggling with the same with just 14 points from seven PKL 11 matches. Both will look to outsmart each other and at the end of the day one could leave Hyderabad with better conviction for the next leg. It will be interesting to see who gets the better of the two.

Nitin Dhankar vs Nitin Rawal

While the spotlight might be on the stars, two more people will look to get their A-game for their respective franchises. Specifically, it will be two Nitin’s who will be up against each other. Nitin Dhankar was a revelation for Bengal Warriorz last season and has shouldered the Raiding responsibilities of the team in PKL 11.

Nitin Rawal is the surprise package of the season as he has been the best defender for Bengaluru and has kept them in the hunt. Both are coming from strong performances in their previous encounter and will be eager to not only steal the spotlight from the stars but also make people talk about them. A fascinating contest awaits and irrespective of who wins, Kabaddi fans will have a treat for the night.
