Commenting on the reason behind Tata Steel’s decision to invest in the ISL, Sunil Bhaskaran, Vice President (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel said, “We have been thinking of getting into league football for the last 2-3 years but stayed away, preferring to see the results of the churning that the ISL bought into Indian football. Having taken the plunge completely the Tata Steel backed team will use all the expertise within their means to deliver the best in class match viewing experience to the fans. “We plan to use the expertise of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which has done some fabulous work in the New York Marathon. They have also done some great work in enhancing the spectator experience in some of the leagues in Europe,” Bhaskaran was quoted elaborating on their plans to The Hindu.
