Solskjaer unsure of Lukaku's future at Manchester United
The Belgian has been strongly linked with a move to Italian outfit Inter Milan.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Romelu Lukaku's future at Old Trafford looks very bleak and he is leaning towards his exit from Manchester United.
The Red Devils are yet to receive a formal bid for the Belgian striker, however clubs have expressed interest in the 26 year old. Inter Milan have been in talks with the top brass at United to rope in the striker but the Red Devils have slapped a price tag of over £79 million on their out of form star.
This drastically reduces the likelihood of a transfer of the player to Serie A considering Internazionale's financial prowess in the transfer market.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was in Old Trafford to negotiate but was unable to reach a mutual agreement and had understood that their current bid wouldn't be enough to get the player from Premier League. Lukaku was left out of the pre season tour match against the 2-0 victory over Perth Glory due to a minor injury.
However, Solskjaer assured that the Belgian would be got for the match against Leeds. "He should be fit for Wednesday, he trained with the team yesterday but it was not useful today to risk him," Solskjaer said in the press conference.
When questioned on Lukaku's future with the United and if he would stay with the club after the transfer window, Solskjaer replied: "Let's see when the season starts. We have not had any bids that we are considering."
In the same press conference, the Norwegian had sublimely hinted at who might wear the captain's armband next season.
"We have got a few possibilities there. When the season starts we will announce", Solskjaer said.
"Ashley will wear it when he is playing until we decide on someone."

This adds a whole new twist to Pogba's future since he was considering to leave United and Real Madrid have hinted that they would want to sign him. However, him being offered captaincy throws this entire fiasco off track.
