In-form Shillong Lajong take on Kerala Blasters in U-18 Youth League final
The Meghalaya based side beat East Bengal to reach the showpiece while the Blasters overcame SAI Kolkata.
Shillong Lajong FC is all set to face off Kerala Blasters FC in the finals of the U-18 Youth League to be held at the JN Stadium in Shillong on 25th May, Saturday at 4:30 PM.
The U-18 Youth League qualification round kicked off earlier this year and the Reds finished the Shillong-Guwahati Zone on top with 16 points from 6 games and also topped the final round group D with 9 points from 3 games. They won the semi-finals against East Bengal by 2-0. Altogether, the Lajong young guns have impressively scored a total of 21 goals in the tournament so far and conceded just three.
Meanwhile, Kerala Blasters FC was second in the Rest of India Group D with 7 points from 4 games and during the playoffs they finished second again with 6 points from 3 games. In the final round Group C, they finished at the top of the table with 7 points from 3 games. They scored 20 goals and conceded 11 in the tournament so far.
The Kerala side is coming into the final clash of the tournament after a 2-1 win semi-final win over SAI Kolkata on Thursday and have thus proven to be a very decent side and cannot be underestimated.

Coach Bobby Nongbest said, "It was a great match against East Bengal and we played according to plan."
"The match on Saturday will be tough and it will be the most crucial 90 minutes the boys will be playing."

Shillong Lajong Juniors may not have been the favourites at the start of the tournament but they have a chance to create history tomorrow in the finals and the entire team is working hard together preparing to give their best. The Players and Management would like to urge all the football loving fans in the region to come to the JN Stadium tomorrow and show their support. Considering there is no entry fee for the youth league final, the Club hopes that the fans present tomorrow can make a big difference in the final showdown and stand by the Lajong youngsters who have fought hard to reach the final.
