World No. 1 Sinner has been flawless so far, not dropping a single set on his way to the last four. The Italian brushed past Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2 in the quarter-finals after earlier wins against Adrian Mannarino (6-4, 7-6(4)), Gabriel Diallo (6-2, 7-6(6)) and Daniel Elahi Galan 6-1, 6-1.

On the other hand, French underdog Atmane has been the surprise package of the tournament, pulling off stunning upsets. He knocked out world No. 9 Holger Rune 6-2, 6-3 in the quarter-finals and eliminated world No. 4 Taylor Fritz 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the round of 16.

Now, the 23-year-old faces the toughest challenge of his career, meeting four-time Grand Slam champion Sinner for the first time.

However, Atmane is all set for the clash agianst the tennis giant. “He’s (Jannik SInner) a person with two arms and two legs, like me. He’s the world number 1, wins Grand Slams, bravo to him. Saturday’s match will be very interesting for me,” said the world number 136 after reaching the last four.

Regardless of the result, Atmane has already secured a place inside the world’s Top 70, marking a career-high ranking.
