Top five predictions for WWE Night of Champions 2023
Some of WWE’s biggest stars will take centre stage with some dream matchups on offer.
WWE is back with another major international event, now at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Night of Champions. This is the ninth time WWE is hosting an event in Saudi Arabia and fourth time in Jeddah. WWE had booked Saudi shows as the domestic B-shows in the past, however a 10 year deal in 2018 changed the game completely. WWE is now hosting traditional premium live events in the Saudi Arabian Dorm.
The Night of Champions 2023 premium live event which is about to occur on 27 May 2023 at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is no different, it has featured multiple main stream matches. It is the first time WWE is hosting a show with a triple main event on the same day. The show features some of the exciting matches, so here are the top 5 predictions for WWE Night of Champions 2023.
5. Rhea Ripley vs Natalya
It is one of the matches which is booked just to make Rhea defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Night of Champions. Rhea Ripley has been one of the dominant wrestlers in the women’s division in recent times. While punishing Dana Brooke on the Raw after Backlash, Natalya confronted Rhea Ripley. Which has later turned into a championship match at Night of Championship.
The match had no proper storyline or feud, hence Natalya capturing the SmackDown Championship makes absolutely no sense. To continue Rhea’s dominance and to make her a greatest heel, squashing Natalya within a few minutes could be fair and could justify the fans.
4. Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus
Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus is one of a dream matches in the card. It is a battle between the woman who is considered as the greatest in the history of WWE vs the woman who has been credited for the Women’s Revolution. Trish Stratus claims that the Women’s division was not given this kind of credits at that time and she had come to reclaim what she deserved.
She also reported that the only way to reclaim the acknowledgement is by beating Becky Lynch. This match could be one of the highlights of the evening, where both the women have the potential to fight till the last breath. Becky Lynch has a high possibility to win this match either by pinfall or by DQ.
3. Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes
Brock Lesnar vs Cody Rhodes for the second time in a month is said to occur at the Night of Champions 2023 at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The feud started when Lesnar attacked Cody on the Raw after Wrestlemania 39. They both had a match against each other at Backlash where Cody won by converting Kimura into a pinfall. Brock Lesnar was busted open by hitting his head into the turnbuckle and has stitches. Brock then appeared on Raw to attack Cody and demand him a rematch.
Cody accepted to fight however was attacked by Brock, resulting in a broken arm. Cody was advised not to fight, however Cody wanted a fight and traveled to Saudi Arabia. Cody, with his broken left hand, could only fight the beast with one hand. Although beating Brock with a fully fit medical condition itself is very hard, Cody fighting Brock with one hand is practically not possible. However a loss could affect the momentum of Cody, and a continuous loss of Lesnar could make him a weaker wrestler. However a no contest to a match will make perfect sense.
2. The Bloodline vs KO & Sami Zayn
Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa were the new #1 contender for the Undisputed Tag Team Champions replacing The Usos. Roman has an eye to capture all the gold’s in WWE, however winning the tag titles will not be a wise choice. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have just started emerging themselves as the leader of the tag team division, however making them lose could affect the Tag team Division.
Although the Viceman has a plan for Roman, Sami Zayn being the strategist could gamble to steal a win against them. Solo Sikoa will be the person to be pinned as Roman was not pinned in recent years. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are likely to retain the championship gold.
1. Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles
Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles for the new World Heavyweight Championship is one of the three main events at the Night of Champions 2023. The overall show is around this match to crown the champion at the finals of the tournament. The two former world champions are well known for delivering some of the best matches in the industry. This could be a hard fought match that could end up with a clear result by crowning the championship. Seth Rollins has been rumored as the favourite to win the championship, however AJ Styles is not an easy opponent though. This match could last for approximately 30 minutes and probably end in favor of Seth Rollins
