Cody Rhodes defeated the beast this Saturday

Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes had a Rubber match at WWE SummerSlam 2023. The match was a showcase of brutal attacks and exchange of signature moves. Lesnar went for a ten straight suplex, and two F5, where Cody had two Cody Cutters, two Disaster Kicks and three Cross Rhodes.

At the end Cody won the match by a clean pinfall on Brock Lesnar after a hard fought fight. This is the first time in recent times that Lesnar has been pinned for a loss without any controversy. After the match, Lesnar shook hands, shared a hug, and lifted the hands of Cody Rhodes as a showcase of respect. After the SummerSlam, it was said that Brock went out of the script at the event, which wasn’t planned.

What did Brock Lesnar do out of the Script?

After SummerSlam came to an end, a Post-SummerSlam Media Scrum was arranged, where WWE Executive and Chief Creative Officer, Triple H confirmed that Brock Lesnar showing respect to Cody Rhodes was totally unscripted.

Triple H said that Cody spoke to him after the match that he “hadn’t had time to really digest the Brock Lesnar moment after their match” as it was “completely unplanned and completely in the moment”.

Triple H continued that it is one of the rarest moments, as he never usually witnessed Brock Lesnar shake hands, and hug his opponent after the match. He knows Brock, and worked with him most of the time, but still it “was a holy sh**t for me! So, when Cody realizes what happened, I think that’s the moment”.

Triple H further said that Brock Lesnar is a generational talent and a special human being. He is one of the “unbelievable athletes at the highest of levels, UFC at the highest of levels”. When it comes to Sports Entertainment he is “the Greatest Of All Time”.

This is not the first time

Do you think this is the first time Brock Lesnar showed his respect to his opponent after the match? No, At WrestleMania 19, when Brock Lesnar battled Kurt Angle and won the Undisputed WWE Championship, Lesnar offered a handshake, and shared a hug to Kurt.
