WWE RAW Results, Highlights & Winners (December 18, 2023): Judgment Day retains the Tag Team titles
Gunther rtains, Truth took McDonagh out, Gunther retains, New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Judgment Day retains and more!
The December 18, 2023 episode of Monday Night Raw is the “Happy Holiday” special themed show. It is one of the must watch episodes of Raw as three championships were defended on the line nd one changed hands. Number of matches booked for Raw-Day 1 and the matches, segements and brawls were on a pay-per-view level. Get to know what happened on this week’s episode of SmackDown as we came out with the complete summary, results and highlights of the show.
WWE Raw Summary
The Judgment Day
The Judgment Day kicked-off Monday Night Raw. Damian Priest welcomed the WWE Universe, Balor sent a message to The Creed Brothers, Rhea Ripley warns Ivy Nile. R-Truth interrupts Judgment Day and says that he is in The Judgment Day and claims that the beatings last week is the initiation of that. Truth challenges McDonagh for a already made 34th Street Fight, where loser leaves Judgment Day &Priest accepted that.
34th Street Fight- Loser leaves Judgment Day match
R Truth took McDonagh down with a takedown, delivered a scissors kick, took his belt off and and whooped his back. Truth threws the wrapped gift on McDonagh and kicked him off. Truth gives and handshake to Dom, who was on the ringside, but Dom pushed him to the ring post.
R Truth continues to dominate the Street Fight, he went to take tables and McDonagh takes the advantage with a slide kick. While entering the ring Truth kicks McDonagh, Dom pulls the leg, he lands on McDonagh’s groin. Truth takes Dom to the steel steps and delivered 5 Knuckle shuffle on McDonagh.
Truth hit McDonagh with the X-mas Tree and laid him over the table. McDonagh stops him and looks for a suplex, but both fall on the tables, breaking it. As Truth falls on top of him Truth gets the pinfall & kicks McDonagh out of Judgment Day.
Winner: R-Truth Ratings: 4/5
Becky Lynch & Nia Jax
Nia Jax came for an announcement, but without saying a word Becky Lynch interrupted her. Nia Jax steps about and Becky asks why she is leaving when she came out to talk. Nia Jax says that she is entering the Royal Rumble. Becky says nobody cares for her and all they care for is her.
Lynch calls her for a fight, but Nia says that Becky is the money maker of the business, and if she fights her she would lose that. Nia Jax calls the referee for a match, but she didn’t enter and neglects to fight her tonight. Jax wants to fight her on Raw Day 1.
Nia made it personal by referencing Lynch’s daughter and Lynch had enough, she went to fight her, as referee separates them, Jax attacked her back.
Intercontinental Championship Match- Gunther vs The Miz
Gunther locks The Miz’ neck and took him down. Gunther looks to finish him soon with a Elevated Boston Crab, but Miz escapes. The Miz target’s Gunther’s leg with the kicks and Figure-4. Gunther walks out of the ring, Miz chased him, but Gunther chopped his bone and power bombs him through the apron.
After the commercial, Gunther big booted Miz and mocks The Miz. Gunther took him up and Miz fights back, but Gunther chopped him down. Gunther and Miz exchange chops, and Gunther delivered an uppercut to lay him down.
Miz with a couple of big boot and his signature clothesline to the corner took Gunther scrambling. But when gone for a cross body, Gunther caught him and took him down. Gunther tried to chop Miz, but hit his hand on the ring post.
Gunther looks to sleeper hold Miz, but Biz fights back targeting his injured arm. Miz goes for a crossface, but Miz escaped and delivered three DDT’s back to back to back. Miz tries to break the injured hand, but Gunther turned the match too soon, with a missile drop kick, powerbomb and Boston Crab, but Miz escaped reaching the ropes.
Gunther chops Miz and he asks for more. Gunther locks the sleeper hold and Miz converted into a pin fall. Miz hit the skull crushing finale but not enough to dethrone Gunther. Miz kicks him of the chest, but Gunther hit a Clothesline.
Gunther climbs the top rope, Miz stops him and delivered a Skull Crushing Finale from the top rope, but Gunther scrolls out. Miz tries to chase him, Gunther enters the ring and delivered a power bomb, clothesline and another power bomb for the win to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
Winner: Gunther Results: 4.7/5
Shinsuke Nakamura’s “American NightMare Before Christmas Stories”
He came out with a story stating that he is a bas***d, cancer and Cody attacked him. Cody and Nakamura brawl throughout the backstage area and entered the ring via audience area. Securities separated them, but Cody took securities out. Cody cleans the announcement desk and looks for Cross Rhodes, but securities separated them.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship- Chelsea Green & Piper Niven vs Kayden Carter & Katana Chance
Green and Carter starts the match, where Green went for a takedown. Carter fights back, tagged Chance to work as a unit. Green escapes and tags Niven. She took carter down, but Chance fights her best. Carter and Chance tries to work as a unit, but Green pulls carter out. Niven then delivered a splash on both their opponents.
Green and Carter got tagged in, Carter is fired up, using Niven’s powerful moves to finish Chelsea as Niven delivered a splash on Green. Carter took Green to the top rope and Chelsea pushed her down. Green tags Niven and both delivered a codebreaker, and senton on Carter, but Chance breaks the pinfall.
Green tried to finish the things off, but Chance and Carter delivered their finishing maneuvers “After Party” on Green to become the New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Winner: Katana Chance & Kayden Carter Ratings: 3.5/5
Ivar vs Akira Tozawa
Akira Tozawa went to Adam Pearce and asked for a match with Ivar and made it official. As the match kicks-in, Tozawa is fired up and is extremely motivated. Tozawa controls the big man with quick moves, kicks Ivar to the chest, and spin kicks him to the face, and hit a tornado DDT.
Ivar hit a sitdown from the turnbuckles, Tozawa quickly turn the momentum with a take down and went for the top rope. Valhalla tries to stop him, Maxxine took her down. Tozawa delivered the senton but not enough. Tozawa tried to an Hurricanrana, but Ivar delivered the world’s powerful slam from the top rope and won.
Winner: Ivar Ratings: 3/5
Seth “Freakin” Rollins addressed Drew McIntyre
Seth Rollins addresses the WWE Universe. He says that after his confrontation, he is motibated and wish to be the best World Champion in the industry. He comes to Drew McIntyre that he would take him down at Day 1. McIntyre interrupts him and Rollins took his coat off and is ready for the fight.
Rollins says that he didnt forget that he headbutt him weeks ago. McIntyre says that he is proud of Rollins and what he said on the face of Punk. He accepts Rollins is the true leader. McIntyre says that he is going to take the title from him for their family as their parents are getting older to see him winning the World Championship infront of their WWE Universe. He says that he doesn’t want the title in hate, but wanted it for his family and he would do whatever it takes.
Rollins addresses that McIntyre’s statement of that he could do anything to take the title, and said that he lacks responsibilities. Rollins says that the only man who he is not the world champion is McIntyre himself. He hates McIntyre and pitties him.
Rollins dropped with happy holidays wish and walks. But McIntyre wants the fight. Rollins kicks McIntyre out of the ring and hit him a suicide dive. McIntyre sends Rollins face first to the steel steps with the inverted Alabama slam. Seth screamd in pain and McIntyre walked away.
Santa Claus ft. Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston as the Santa Claus came to deliver some gifts to the WWE Universe. Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci attacked him from the back and tried to assault him. Jey Uso came for the save and asks Kaiser for a fight.
Jey Uso vs Ludwig Kaiser
During the commercial the match began. Jey Uso takes control of Kaiser with a number of punches to the face & Kaiser takes control with the clothesline. Kaiser slows down Jey with back to back strikes and elbow strike to the face and back of the head. Kasier sent Jey to the turnbuckles and send him down. Kaiser have the clear upper hand during the initial part of the match before commercial.
After the commercial, Jey hit a step-up enziguri on Kaiser, blocks Kaiser’s strike and hit his signature punches. Jey hit a kick to the face and splashed him in the corner. Kaiser hit a rolldown slam and looks for hammerlock DDT, but Jey hit a superkick.
Jey went for the top rope, Vinci pushed him down. Kofi counters Vinci with a Trouble in Paradise. Jey speared Kaiser and hit the frog splash on Kaiser for the win. Kofi and Jey celebrated the win.
Winner: Jey Uso Ratings: 3.5/5
Backstage- The Judgment Day
The Judgment Day were on the backstage, teasing McDonagh of kicking out from Judgment Day after losing to Truth as per stipulation. McDonagh says that Truth doesn’teven in Judgment Day to make decision. Priest askes him stating is McDonagh the one who makes decision and shave a deep stare on him.
Priest doesn’t want McDonagh, but finally agrees to stay with them. Priest seems like he is the one to take decision, Ripley stopped him from disagreements and asked Balor and Priest to focus on their match tonight. Pushed McDonagh to the couch and the tag team champs with Ripley walks to the ring.
Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship- The Judgment Day vs The Creed Brothers
Finn Balor and Julius Creed starts the match. Julius controls the match taking both Balor and Priest out with a shoulder takedown, before the commercial. The Creed Brothers are still in control of the match taking down Balor. Brutus tags in and delivered a slam through the shoulder.
Julius tags in and work as a unit, Priest got tagged in and bends the rope to make him fall through the ropes. Balor got tagged in and Julius tags Brutus in. Brutus is fired up and controls him with take downs and hit the backbreaker. Priest tags in, Balor send Brutus out, Priest pushed Brutus through the announcement desk before commercial.
Brutus and Priest exchange hands. Brutus caught Priest while performing spin kick and delivered a backdrop. Julius and Balor got tagged in, Julius in raising the stakes, he’s fired up took Balor and Priest with slams and suplexes. Rhea Ripley attacked Ivy Nile, but Nile sends Rhea face first to the apron.
Julius and Brutus Creed delivered Brutus ball on Balor, Priest saved him. Priest and Balor tried for the Brutus Ball, but Creed Brothers delivered it to Priest. When Julius looks for a pin fall, Balor thi the Coupe De Grace on Julius. Priest delivered the Sitout Chokeslam on Julius and retained the Tag Team titles.
Winners: Finn Balor & Damian Priest Ratings: 4/5
