‘The Best in the World’ has quite some reaction to AEW All-In altercation
CM Punk has finally shared his opinion on AEW showing the All In backstage footage. Last year, at All In 2023, Punk got into a furious argument with Jack Perry.
The incident finally resulted in his removal from the promotion and Perry’s suspension. While Punk left for WWE, Perry rose to become one of the promotion’s top heels.
Punk spoke openly about the event during a recent interview with Jimmy Traina on the Sports Illustrated Media podcast. While he thought AEW’s actions were “ugly,” he was also happy to be in the limelight.
“It felt really ugly, but then I was like, showing that footage isn’t going to help them or hurt me, so whatever. Being a top draw in two different companies is pretty wild. Thanks, guys.”
Before AEW aired the tape, the Second City Saint discussed it with Ariel Helwani on his program. Tony Khan then used the clip to promote a kayfabe tale featuring FTR and The Young Bucks. Despite his absence from the marketing, Punk was nonetheless included in the video.
Darby Allin speaks on CM Punk & Jungle Boy altercation
Darby Allin discusses how the CM Punk incident at AEW All-In benefited Jack Perry. At AEW All In, Jack Perry got into an argument with CM Punk backstage. The event resulted in Punk’s termination from AEW. Perry was suspended, but he returned months later to AEW Dynasty. Perry’s success as a member of The Elite has only increased since then. He eventually won the TNT Championship.
Darby Allin spoke with Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con about his AEW All-In match vs Jack Perry. He reflected on AEW All In 2023. Allin also stated that the event between Punk and Perry benefited him since it helped him establish his specialty.
“It was made official, me and Jack Perry at All In,” Darby Allin said. “So much has happened in a year, it’s wild. It’s really interesting because I felt like last year, Jack Perry was going into All In as a heel, but I really didn’t feel like he found his niche. Unfortunately, [laughs] he did what he did, but weirdly enough, I feel like that actually made him find his niche.”
“They say wrestling’s the best when you’re yourself turned up to a hundred, and he’s just a douchebag. So it’s kind of cool that he can just be his normal self.”
