Three championship matches & Joe Hendry’s in-ring concert featured on week 1 of WWE NXT Great American Bash
The July 30, 2024 episode of WWE NXT The Great American Bash Week 1 event is officially over from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. WWE showcased some of the interesting matches and segments on the show. Get to know what happened on this week’s NXT, as we came out with the complete summary of what happened on WWE NXT Great American Bash 2024.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match- The Unholy Union (C) vs Meta-Four
NXT Great American Bash 2024 opened up with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match between Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn defending the title against Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson of Meta-Four.
Before the bell both the teams fight each other and it comes to Fyre & Jackson starting the match. Jakara struck first however the champs with back-to-back tags took Jackson down. Legend took control of Fyre & Dawn after the commercial. However, Fyre with a cheap shot took control with Isla. In the final moments of the match, Fyre & Dawn retained the title by pinfall after a KLR Bomb to Jakara.

Ethan Page came to the ring and mocked Meta-Four for their fluke victories. He said that the match with Oro Mensah would be one-sided. Mensah came to the ring and casually mock-pinned him with the assistance of his teammates
NXT Heritage Cup Match- Tony D’Angelo (C) vs Tavion Heights
Round 1 of the NXT Heritage Cup match was full of each other throwing strikes and countering moves. The first round ended with Tony D’Angelo going for the ankle lock and the time ran out. Round 2 went in the commercial. Back after the commercial, in round three D’Angelo with the fisherman neckbreaker picked up the first fall with the score of 1-0.
Wren Sinclair hyped Tavion Heights, slapping him in the face, which fired him up and picked the fall in the fourth round with a belly-to-belly suplex to score (1-1).
In the final round of the match, both tried hard to secure the win, however, D’angelo with the thrust spinebuster won the match (2-1) to retain the NXT Heritage Cup.
Cedric Alexander vs Brooks Jensen
Jensen was fired up and took shots against Cedric with the elbow and went for a near fall. Shawn Spears came to the ringside and Brooks hit Cedric with the Tree of Woe, Michinoku Driver and a diving leg drop. When Jensen went for the wheel kick, Cedric countered it with a Lumbar Check and picked up the win.
The Rascalz
The Rascalz appeared on the videotape and they discussed setting their sights on the tag team championship.
Joe Hendry Concert
Joe Hendry in the live in-ring concert, sang a couple of chords, but Gallus interrupted him and attacked him in a three-on-one assault. Joe Coffey hit Hendry with the guitar and the segments ended with Gallus standing tall.
Jaida Parker vs Kendal Grey
The match began with Grey twisting Parker’s arm and Parker taking her to the corner for a knee strike. Parker took control of her with a springboard crossbody and inverted vertical suplex. Myles Borne & wren Sinclair came to yell at Carlee Bright, but Grey took Borne with a Suplex. Back in the ring, she delivered an Olympic Slam to Parker, but Parker fought back with a running knee and picked up the win.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match- Jazmyn Nyx, Fallon Henley & Jacy Jayne vs Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice & Sol Ruca
Henley and Ruca started the match with both locking their shoulders. The momentum kept swinging and the back-to-back tags played a major role for both teams to take control. However, in the final moments of the match Henley with a big ending to Petrovic pinned her and secured a win for their team.
NXT Women’s Championship Match- Roxanne Perez (C) vs Thea Hail
Roxanne Perez defended her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against Thea Hail in a singles match on the main event. Thea Hail was fired up and tried to pick up the win too soon with the wrist lock and delivering an exploder suplex. The momentum then shifted towards Roxanne, as she locked her with a crossface. Perez delivered a cheap shot to Thea, took her down and sent her shoulder first to the steel steps. Roxanne took her to the ring and hit Pop Rox to secure the win and retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
