Cody Rhodes wants to fight his old friend Kevin Owens
The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes got into a heated confrontation with former friend Kevin Owens in the 11/22 episode of SmackDown.
The two stars engaged in a war of words as the champion was angry with Ownes because he landed a banned move and injured Randy Orton. While Owens felt he was justified in his actions as he blamed the champion.
However, further escalations between the two were stopped mid-way by the WWE security and officials. Cody proposed a match tonight, at Survivor Series, or at Saturday’s Main Event. Owens denied it by saying that the match would happen on his terms, not when Rhodes wanted it.
After the segment ended, The American Nightmare was headed back to the locker room. Carmelo Hayes was backstage and stated that he was telling the truth, Rhodes, who was walking past, stopped and asked him what he was saying.
Hayes replied, claiming that Owens was telling the truth, and added that the only thing lying was Randy Orton’s neck. The Champion lost his cool and pushed Hayes, prompting Nick Aldis and WWE security to rush in and diffuse the situation.
