Five Superstars who were erased from WWE history
WWE is one of the biggest professional wrestling promotions, where a number of histories are made over the years. It is not about making history by winning golds or breaking records, however every WWE star has some great history behind their journey.
Although most of their journeys were praised for years, some of them were erased from history. Here are five WWE Superstars who were erased from the company’s History.
5. Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan is one of the most popular and recognisable professional wrestlers of all time. He has a great history with the company over the years. However, Hogan was temporarily erased from WWE history after his racist comments.
The audio tape of him making racist comments got leaked, which made WWE remove Hogan from history and from the Hall of Fame, however it got reinstated after the issue got settled in 2018.
4. Chyna
Chyna was one of the most dominant female stars of the 90’s and was part of various storylines and stables. However after her release from the company, she went on to pursue a career in the adult industry, which totally stood against the traces of the company’s policy.
WWE erased Chyna from the company’s history and never mentioned her in the tapings. However after her passing in 2016, she was acknowledged by Stephanie McMahon stating that she deserves a place in the Hall of Fame for her pro-wrestling Career.
3. CM Punk
CM Punk left WWE in 2014 after a controversial walkout following a dispute between the management. Punk’s actions made Vince McMahon angry, as a result he got terminated from the contract and was never mentioned again in the company for almost a decade.
Punk’s trace in the company profile was erased and was never part of the video tapes. However after a decade long struggle, Punk made his return back to the company in December 2023, and things became normal again.
2. Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar is one of the dominant assets of WWE, however after his involvement in the sex trafficking filed against Vince McMahon, he has been erased from the upcoming return plans, existing video tapes and video games. He is the latest one to get erased by the company along with the boss himself, Vince McMahon.
1. Chris Benoit
WWE has erased Chris Benoit from history after his horrifying and controversial death. After the horrifying incident, WWE erased traces of Benoit in history and never mentioned his name again. His 2004 Royal Rumble win was removed with a name-sake battle royal, by covering it up as it had not happened. Benoit’s wins and achievements were buried and never mentioned again in the company tapings.
