The Scottish Psychopath was ambushed by Damian Priest in the O2 Arena!
‘The Scottish Psychopath’ Drew McIntyre made his appearance during the opening moments of the show during the segment between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. McIntyre crashed the segment and mocked both Rhodes and Orton.
While Orton stated that he wanted to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed title after beating Kevin Owens at the WrestleMania 41 PLE, McIntyre laughed at the idea and stated that he should be the one challenging Rhodes for the title.
The confrontation soon turned hostile as Rhodes attacked Drew and landed the iconic uppercut as Orton joined in and went for the RKO, McIntyre managed to escape the ring and the vicious RKO but a singles match between him and Orton was set for later in the show.
Despite an early flurry from Orton, McIntyre was able to pick up the win as Orton was distracted by Kevin Owens who made an appearance during the match on the March 28 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Drew McIntyre received treatment for an eye injury at the scene
Following the match while, McIntyre was leaving the arena Damian Priest retaliated for the previous attack and ambushed Drew McIntyre as he was leaving the arena in a good mood after pinning Randy Orton. While McIntyre tried to fight back, Priest retaliated and landed a South of Heaven directly on the card windshield, shattering it in the process.
Earlier reports after the attack from PWInsider stated that McIntyre did, in fact, get glass in his eye from Priest’s chokeslam onto the windshield. However, PWInsider after speaking with several WWE sources has not provided an update on this report.
According to a recent report from PWInsider, while McIntyre received treatment for the eye injury at the scene, it was not glass. WWE doctors checked McIntyre before he left SmackDown. Backstage, he wore an eyepatch and told people glass had been removed.
McIntyre has been spotted in public wearing an eye patch, however, it’s not clear if he selling the injury or if it’s anything serious. The attack will definitely fuel fire to their feud ahead of the WrestleMania 41 PLE.
