WWE SmackDown Results, Highlights & Winners (July 19, 2024): The Bloodline's assault continues

Andrade defeats Melo, Logan Paul signs US title contract, Bloodline assaults Rhodes & Owens and much more!
The July 19, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is officially over and it is one of the must seen episode in recent times. A number of interesting matches and segments were featured in the show, which sets the stage for the 2024 WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Get to know what happened on the blue brand, as we came out with the complete summary, highlights, results and winner’s list for this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.
WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights
Cody Rhodes & A-Town Down Under
Cody Rhodes kicked off Friday Night SmackDown. He addressed what happened to Randy Orton last week and felt guilty about it. He wish to take revenge on The Bloodline and Solo Sikoa, who are responsible for the attack on Randy Orton. He recalled what he had said to Solo Sikoa, before WrestleMania 39, and stands with the same. He knows that Solo Sikoa is not ready to be a champion, and will prove it on SummerSlam.
Austin Theory and Grayson Waller interrupted Cody. Theory claimed that he is the reason behind, Jacob Fatu’s attack on him. But, Cody regretted it saying that Waller was the reason behind it, as he left him alone. Waller stops him and said that Cody is not only responsible for their attack, but also for Bloodline’s attack on Randy Orton. This started a brawl, where Theory and Waller took the champ down. However, Terence Crawford, who was among WWE Universe, gave a chair to Cody, which helped Cody took Waller and Theory out.
Walking to the backstage, Cody Rhodes met Nick Aldis and asked for a match with Austin Theory & Grayson Waller tonight. However, Aldis doesn’t want his champ to fight alone and instead ask him to find a partner by the end of the night.
Carmelo Hayes vs Andrade
The match began with both countering each other’s move and both trying to roll each other looking for a fall. Andrade had the major control of the match after that with a Springboard Spanish Fly, clothesline, flying elbow and double knees.
Carmelo Hayes tried to have a brief control, by taking Andrade to the top rope. However Andrade took Melo down to deliver a double Moonsault and a spinning elbow. Andrade went for the top rope, but Hayes delivered a code breaker. Melo went for Nothing but Net, but Andrade escaped and delivered his finisher for the win.
Nia Jax & Bayley Interview
Corey Graves tried to ask questions to them, but Nia Jax cuts him half. Jax wanted to tak straight to Bayley and said that she feels worried for Bayley as he gonne hurt her so bad and take the title from her. Bayley recalled the past, of what happened in 2017 and said that she didn’t change since then. Bayley claims that Jax runs her mouth and nothing else. Bayley said that she will walk into SummerSlam as champion and walk out of the building as champion.
Bianca Belair vs Chelsea Green
Chelsea Green and Piper Niven started an arguement backstage outside Nick Aldis’ office. Where Bianca Belair challenged Green for a match to settle things, before they decide who meets Aldis first.
The match began with Chelsea yelling Belair and slapping her, but Belair slapped her back. Green delivered a drop kick and tried for the on Belair and slaps her, but Belair slapped her back. Green took a shot on Belair and looks for I’m Prettier, but Belair took her with a German Suplex. Belair looked for a KOD, but Green escaped. Both tried to roll each other, but Belair successfully pinned Green for the win.
After the match, Piper Niven and Green confront Belair and Cargill, but retreated. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn appeared on the big screen and cut a promo against Belair and Cargill. They tease of meeting each other next week and they will think of giving the rematch for the title then.
United States Championship Contract Signing
Nick Aldis called out LA Knight and Logan Paul to make the United States Championship Match official for SummerSlam 2024. The contract already has Nick Aldis & LA Knight‘s signature, all it needs is the champs signature.
Logan Paul before signing the contract, asks why he need to face LA Knight, as he didn’t do anything to gain the title shot. Knight said that everytime, he and Paul stepped inside the ring, he took shot on him and been superior over him. He recalled the house invasion, pinning him to qualify for MITB match and more. Logan said that he doesn’t need the match, but Knight needs it so badly.
Logan claims that he and his brother are revolutionizing the sports industry, but didn’t got any potential challengers. Paul said that he see nothing in Knight, but a man built with cathphrase, who pretend to be The Rock. Knight cuts him off saying that Logan is pretending to be champ, without even defending it. Knight said that his brother Jake has balls to face Mike Tyson, whereas Logan is not having balls to face LA Knight.
Logan is heard enough and signed the contract and said that Knight can never be a champion in WWE. Both collide their heads and came so close to start a brawl. Logan attacked Knight from the back, but Knight attacked him and tried to deliver a BFT, but Logan escaped.
Tiffany Stratton vs Michin
The match began with Tiffany Stratton taking down Michin, but Michin sent Tiffany out of the ring. Michin followed her, but she hid behind Nia Jax and attacked Michin with a fore arm and with an Alabama Slam.
Back in the ring, Tiffy delivered a springboard rolling swanton and a gymnastic splash. When looking for another Alabama Slam, Michin countered with a roll down. Michin got fired up and delivered a clothesline, neck breaker and Tornado DDT. Michin looks for her finisher, but Tiffany escaped with a knee to the back of the head and with a double stomp.
Michin delivered a missile drop kick from the top rope, sending Tiffany out of the ring. When Michin tried for a suicide dive, Nia Jax grabbed her legs. Tiffany used the distraction to take Michin down and went to the top rope for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
But Bayley came from the time keepers area and sent Nia Jax out. Bayley smashed Jax on the facw with the briefcase and broke the briefcase, by smashing and stomping it. This distracted Tiffany and Michin with a roll down, picked up the win.
The Bloodline
Solo Sikoa with The Bloodline warned the locker room, saying that anybody who wishes to team up with Cody, will be punished like how Orton got punished last week. He wanted the main event to be a handicap match.
Cody Rhodes & Kevin Owens vs Austin Theory & Grayson Waller
Cody Rhodes before making his way to the ringside, Kevin Owens joined him for the tag team match. Cody Rhodes and Austin Theory start the match, with Theory locking the head of Cody. However Cody with a knee to the mid section took Theory in control. Owens tagged in and both with a double team took Theory down. Owens threws the Prime bottle down, but Waller kept it back. Cody gets the tag, but Theory with a shot to the neck tags Waller in and both with a double team took the champ in control.
Waller and Owens got tagged in, where Owens was fired up, as he took both Waller and Theory down to deliver a couple of Clothesline and a Cannon Ball to Waller. Owens went for the top rope, but Theory pushed him down. Theory delivered a rolling drop kick to Owens and took the control of the match. After the commercial, Waller and Theory still have Kevin Owens in control.
Owens tried to tag Cody, but Waller with a punch to the face took Owens down. Owens rolls out and pushed Waller to the stairs and ran to tag Cody, but Waller stops him again. Waller room Owens to the top rope, but Owens with a head butt and elbow to the head sends Waller down and delivered a Swanton bomb. Cody and Theory gets tagged in and Rhodes is fired up.
Cody delivered a series of punches and a bionic elbow took Theory down. Waller blind tagged himself in. However, Cody pushed him down. cody delivered a DDT on Austin Theory. Waller used the distraction to deliver a rolling face buster. Owens took him out with a Stunner and Cody delivered a Cross Rhodes on Theory for the win.
The Bloodline’s assault
The Bloodline interrupted Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens’ celebration. Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa came to the ringside and Cody took him with a suicide dive. Cody and Owens tried to powerbomb Solo to the announcement table, but Jacob Fatu took both down.
Fatu took Kevin Owens to the ring to deliver a series of corner Samoan Wrecking ball. All the other lock Cody in control. Solo Sikoa with other members of the Bloodline Triple Powerbomb Cody to the annluncement table.
Tama Tonga locked Owens neck with a steel chair and pushed him to the ring post choking his neck. Both Owens and Cody are down and The Bloodline stands tall to end this week’s SmackDown.
