There is an elite class of WWE superstars that deserve a final title run before retirement.
The landscape of WWE has an array of highly talented young individuals as well as seasoned veterans of the business. While some are still going on a full-time schedule, others have chosen to work lighter timetables or even just make sporadic appearances.
However, their contributions to the business surely qualify them for one last title run in WWE. Here are the top five names who deserve a final championship run in WWE before hanging up their boots for good.
5. Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston has been performing at the highest level in the company since the late 2000s. Throughout his career, he has won multiple singles and tag team titles and is still going strong as part of The New Day with Xavier Woods. With his years of hard work over the years, Kingston is a worthy candidate for a final title run before he concludes his nearly two-decade-long career in WWE.
4. Rey Mysterio
The Master of the 619, Rey Mysterio has been wrestling inside the squared circle for nearly 30 years and is continuing to be a full-time WWE performer even after his Hall of Fame induction last year. However, Rey recently spoke about his retirement and could very well do justice to another run as champion as he has done over the years to elevate competition and upcoming rising stars.

3. AJ Styles
Despite his recent retirement ruse on SmackDown last week, AJ Styles has made it clear that his time as an in-ring performer is coming to a close. A world-renowned champion in every promotion he has competed including WWE over two decades, Styles could have a final run as champion.
Moreover, it could begin soon as the seeds have been planted for a rematch against current WWE champion Cody Rhodes, continuing their rivalry further.
2. Randy Orton
Randy Orton has been a seasoned veteran of WWE since 2002 and is still looking to be in his prime. Moreover, The Viper has claimed to have ten more years to his tank to go head-to-head with the best performers of today. With his storied career and ability to still perform at the highest level, Randy Orton is an ideal suitor for a final run as champion.
1. John Cena
John Cena reigned as the poster boy for WWE for nearly 15 years before passing the torch to the next generation. But despite that, the 16-time WWE Champion continues to make sporadic appearances today, although setting the timeline for his official retirement.
Therefore, he could achieve the incredible accolade of being a record-setting 17-time World Champion and surpass Ric Flair’s record before riding off in the sunset for good.
