After a successful day that saw India double its medal count and reach 30 medals at Asian Games 2026, the Indian contingent will head into Day 8 hoping to replicate the performance.
India clinched seven medals on Saturday to climb back into the top 10 in the medal tally, with 4 gold, 12 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
On Sunday, Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh will be favourites to add to the gold medal count, while there will also be medal opportunities in athletics and shooting among others.

Meanwhile, in badminton, as many as three Indian shuttlers, including PV Sindhu, could confirm medals. Sindhu, Unnati Hooda and Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand are just a win away from confirming medals in their respective categories.
The Indian men’s volleyball team begin their campaign on September 27 (Sunday). Dragan Mihailovic’s side will be in action against Vietnam in Pool C.
Harjinder Kaur, who won silver at the recently held Commonwealth Games, will contest for a maiden Asian Games medal in women’s 69kg.
The Indian women’s hockey team will also be in action in their final Pool B match. India, who have already booked their place in the semi-finals, will face Singapore.

In boxing, Parveen Hooda, Sachin Siwach and Ankush can confirm medals by winning their respective quarter-final bouts and reaching the semis.
The main attraction of Sunday’s action will, however, be athletics for the Indian contingent, where several of the nation’s top track & field will be in action.
To start the day, Priyanka Goswami and Manju Rani will contend for medals in race walk. In the evening session, Shaili Singh and Ancy Sojan will be in action in the women’s long jump while Sarvesh Kushare will be in action in men’s high jump.
Animesh Kujur will hope to forget the disappointment of men’s 100m, and turn his focus to the men’s 200m final. Parul Chaudhary also returns to the track for women’s 3000m steeplechase.
In shooting, Manu Bhaker will be in action in women’s 25m pistol individual precision and team precision.
