India hit double digits in gold medal tally

Archery and shooting headlined India’s sensational day which saw the country land four gold medals inside a few hours on Day 11 at the Asian Games 2026.

The women’s compound team matched the world record score of 238 to beat China for gold, and within the hour Chikitha combined with Sahil Rajesh Jadhav to win the compound mixed team final in a shoot-off against South Korea.

The men’s compound team completed the sweep, coming from behind to beat China 238-237 after the Chinese let their lead slip late.

Neeru Dhanda made it four golds for the day, pairing with Kynan Chenai to win the trap mixed team event.

Another promising team result of the day came in hockey, where the women beat South Korea 2-0 in the semi-final to reach the gold-medal match.

Both the men’s and women’s squash teams won their quarter-finals to move into the semis, while tennis, track cycling and judo failed to deliver.

Updated Medal Tally after 30th September at Asian Games 2026

China dominated the diving events, with Lian Junjie taking the men’s 10m platform gold ahead of Japan’s Rikuto Tamai and compatriot Renjie Zhao.

In the women’s 3m springboard, Chen Yiwen finished on top, followed by Chen Jia, while Japan’s Sayaka Mikami claimed bronze.

China found success in the canoe slalom singles, with Huang Juan winning the women’s event ahead of Thailand and Kazakhstan. Hu Zhaoshan from China claimed the men’s kayak single gold, while Japan’s Yuuki Tanaka and Kazakhstan’s Alexandr Korobov completed the podium.

China also defeated Japan in both the women’s and men’s cycling track team pursuit finals. In esports, China beat Japan 2-0 in the Identity V final. China’s dominance saw it surpass the 150-gold mark.

Japan secured two judo titles on the opening day of the event, with Mitsuki Kondo winning the women’s -48kg final and Hayato Kondo taking the men’s -60kg gold after defeating Kazakhstan’s Yeldos Smetov. Kazakhstan’s Abiba Abuzhakynova claimed silver in the women’s -48kg event.

Uzbekistan also enjoyed success, as Abdurakhim Nutfullaev won silver in the men’s -66kg category after losing the final to Mongolia’s Yolk Kazirbyek. Sita Kadamboeva claimed gold in the women’s -52kg event.

In wrestling, Iran’s Amin Mirzazadeh won the Greco-Roman 130kg title, while Japan’s Taizo Yoshida took the 87kg gold. Uzbekistan’s Aytjan Khlmakhanov finished on top in the 67kg category, and Japan’s Ami Ishii claimed the women’s 68kg title.

China extended its lead in the medal standings, increasing its tally to 277 medals. Japan and South Korea retained their respective second and third positions, reaching 200 and 103 medals.

Uzbekistan remained fourth with 54 medals, while Thailand and Iran occupied fifth and sixth positions respectively. Bahrain moved to seventh with 21 medals.

Interestingly, India climbed to eighth place, pushing Kazakhstan down to ninth despite the latter increasing its tally to 56 medals. India’s promotion was a result of its best day so far in Aichi-Nagoya, winning four gold medals to take its tally to 60 medals, an increase of 8 medals from Day 10.
