Asian Games 2026 Day 11 Results: India win four golds in archery and shooting ft. Chikitha Taniparthi, Neeru Dhanda
Medals also came in boxing and wrestling
India had a blockbuster day in the Asian Games 2026 as they won four gold medals in archery and shooting.
It was a spectacular display of precision and composure, with the archers and shootersâ displaying perfection on Wednesday, September 30.

The day started with the Indian womenâs team compromising Chikitha Taniparthi, Prithika Pradeep, and Jyothi Surekha Vennam in compound archery, equalling the world record score of 238/240 to beat China and win the gold.
Just an hour later, Chikitha teamed up with Sahil Rajesh Jadhav to get the second Archery gold.
The gold medal match went to the shoot-off, and the Indian pair hit bullseye to beat South Korea for the second consecutive time in the event finals in Asian Games history.
The Indian menâs team followed suit of the womenâs team, beating China to win the third Archery gold for the day.
It was a come-from-behind victory as the Chinese were leading for most of the final. But one slight mistake from China and the Indians capitalized on it to win the gold medal. Indians would like to continue their good form with a few more finals scheduled in the coming days.
Another Indian, who was in good form, was Neeru Dhanda, who won her third medal in the Asian Games 2026. She teamed with Kynan Chenai to win the mixed team trap event to make it four golds for the day.
In boxing, Priya Ghanghas and Kapil Pokhariya had to settle for bronze after losing their semi-finals.
Lovlina Borgohain will compete in the finals of the womenâs 75kg category after a hard-fought win against her Kazakhstan opponent.
The menâs and the womenâs squash teams won their respective quarter-finals matches and would face tough opponents in the semis.
The Indian womenâs hockey team walked their way to the finals with a convincing 2-0 win over South Korea on Wednesday.
While the score remained 0-0 in the first two quarters, the Indians regrouped in the second half to score goals. Ishika Chaudhary and Salima Tete were the goal scorers to take India to the gold medal match.
Sunil Kumar won Indiaâs first wrestling medal, winning bronze in the menâs Greco-Roman 87kg category. Indians still have 11 more wrestlers in multiple categories and are hoping to win a few more medals.
Asmita Dey, who won gold in the Commonwealth Games, failed to replicate that performance in Japan going down in the quarter-finals.
Mixed results followed in track cycling and tennis, as a few Indians finished their journey in the Asian Games. There are a few Indians in the fray, and they would have to play their skins out to win medals in these sports.
