The Hong Kong Open 2023 marks the 22nd event of BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour this season. This Super 500 tournament is slated to occur at the Hong Kong Coliseum in Hong Kong, running from September 12 to September 17, 2023, with a substantial prize pool of $420,000.

The competition has been held annually since 1986 until 2019, the Hong Kong Open is returning after a four-year hiatus in the BWF circuit. India's Prakash Padukone won the title in the debut year of the tournament while former WR-1 Saina Nehwal joined him to win the title in the year 2010.

Kiran George who won Indonesia Masters this Sunday (September 10th) should look forward to move from the qualifying draw and play a good tournament along with his compatriot WR-50 Mithun Manjunath. HS Prannoy alongside Satwik-Chirag aren't participating in the tournament as they will be eyeing to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games.
