The BWF Japan Masters 2023, an annual badminton tournament held in Japan and recognized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), has been designated as one of the nine BWF World Tour Super 500 events in 2023, solidifying its place in the BWF World Tour calendar.
The city of Kumamoto in Japan has been selected to host this esteemed event from 2023 to 2026. The 2023 edition is scheduled to be held from the 14th to the 19th of November at the Kumamoto Prefectural Gymnasium.

A total of 26 Indonesian players are set to participate in various events at the Japan Masters 2023. Notable figures in the singles category include Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan Christie, and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. In the team events, the women’s doubles pair of Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti stands as the sole seeded duo representing Indonesia.
Players such as Viktor Axelsen, Akane Yamaguchi, and Carolina Marin are set to be the primary attractions in the singles event. In the team events, top-seeded pairs including Pharanyu Kaosamaang and Worrapol Thongsa-Nga in men’s doubles, Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan in women’s doubles, and Zheng Si Wei and Huang Ya Qiong in mixed doubles will fiercely compete for the title. The prize money for the Japan Masters 2023 totals USD $420,000.
