Macau Open: Full list of title winners
PV Sindhu has won the title three times consecutively from 2013- 2015 in women’s singles.
The Macau Open Badminton Championships is a prestigious international tournament hosted in Macau, China. After its launch in 2002 as the ‘Macau Satellite,’ it was included in the International Badminton Federation’s calendar. By 2018, it had evolved into a BWF World Tour Super 300 event. However, the competition was temporarily halted between 2020 and 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resuming its place on the circuit in 2024.
Over the years, the Macau Open has become renowned for its thrilling match-ups and its importance in the badminton calendar. China have dominated with 36 gold medals, followed by South Korea and Malaysia with 11 and seven gold medals, respectively.
India’s PV Sindhu has the distinction of being the first Indian player to win the tournament, achieving consecutive victories in 2013, 2014 and 2015, when it was classified as a Grand Prix Gold event. Now, let’s take a look at the past title winners at the BWF Macau Open.
