Commonwealth Games 2026: India's updated schedule for Day 4 (July 27)

Indian athletes will contest for at least seven medals on Monday

India’s campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 got a huge boost on Day 3, with weightlifters Rishikanta Singh and Mirabai Chanu adding a silver and a gold, respectively, to the nation’s medal tally.

Rishikanta became the first able-bodied athlete to open his account for India in the ongoing Games, claiming a silver medal in the men’s 60kg weightlifting event. He also set a new CWG record in snatch with a lift of 121kg in Snatch.

Fellow weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won a gold medal in the women’s 48kg event. She broke both the Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth records in Snatch, lifting 85 kg. She then sealed the gold medal in the most emphatic manner, setting another CWG record with a 105 kg lift in Clean and Jerk.
