Devon Conway opens up on Chennai Super Kings' crazy IPL 2023 victory celebrations.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) rewrote history when they beat Gujarat Titans in the final of the 2023 Indian Premier League at the Narendra Modi Stadium by five wickets. That win helped them to grab their fifth IPL title and they went on to equal Mumbai Indians with most IPL championship titles. It saw a nail-biting finish when Chennai needed 10 off the last two balls. Ravindra Jadeja smashed one six and one four to seal the deal for his team.

Notably, the game was pushed to reserve day after the play on the scheduled day was called off due to rain. Though the rain did interrupt on the reserve day as well, but Chennai got a 15-over target of 171 runs to chase. The game went to the mid-night and by the time when the IPL trophy was handed to MS Dhoni and Chennai, it was 3 a.m. in the morning. However, it couldn't stop the CSK players and management from celebrating their fifth IPL championship.

"It was crazy"- Devon Conway reveals about crazy celebration of CSK players after winning IPL 2023.

Devon Conway was one of the reasons for CSK winning the IPL 2023. He ended up scoring the most runs for his team and third-most overall. The left-hander scored 672 runs in 15 innings at an average of 51.62 and a strike rate of 139.70 with a best of 92 not out. He also smashed six half-centuries in the tournament. However, Conway has revealed the insight about the crazy celebrations that the players and staff had after winning the IPL final.

He revealed that a lot of players also missed their flights to home as the celebration carried on to 9 a.m. In an interaction on ESPN Cricinfo, Conway said, "It was crazy. A number of the players missed their flights. Moeen Ali and family postponed their travel by a day. Eric Simons [bowling consultant] cancelled his flight. Dwaine Pretorius also missed his flight; only his family somehow managed to get there in time. We all sat around in the team room and celebrated till about 9 am in the morning."

The Kiwi opener won the "Player of the Match" in the final for his match-winning inning of 47 off 25 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes. GT scored 214/4 in the first inning. Furthermore, Conway concluded that everyone had a great time after the win.
