India lost the T20I game at the MCG after 17-long years.
Australia took a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series against India as they registered an emphatic win in the second T20I at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on Friday.
Asked to bat, India batters had no answers to the questions posed by Josh Hazlewood as the Australian pacer was all over the opposition. In the four overs that he bowled on a trot, he bagged three wickets as India were left reeling at 49 for five.
However, Abhishek Sharma (68) seemed to be batting on a different track as he continued batting aggressively. Harshit Rana (35) supported him brilliantly as the duo added 56 runs together, making sure India went past 100 runs on the board.
Abhishek didn’t get much strike in the end and eventually ended up getting out in the 19th over. Soon after his wicket, India got all out for 125. For Australia, apart from Hazlewood, Nathan Ellis and Xavier Bartlett picked two wickets each.

In the chase, Australia were off to a flying start with the bat with Mitchell Marsh (46) and Travis Head (28) taking on Indian bowlers. The duo added 51 runs for the opening stand that set the platform. Josh Inglis (20) played a decent hand as well but couldn’t finish the game.
Although, spinners and Jasprit Bumrah brought India back in the game with quick wickets, they didn’t have enough runs on the board. Australia chased the target in and with four wickets in hand.
