IPL 2024: Most runs, most wickets after Eliminator, RR vs RCB

After defeating RCB by four wickets in the Eliminator, RR advanced to Qualifier 2 in the ongoing IPL 2024.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Eliminator, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scored 172/8 in 20 overs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 22.
After being asked to bat first, Bengaluru batters struggled to score runs against a quality Rajasthan bowling attack. Rajat Patidar top-scored for RCB with 34 runs; Virat Kohli (33), Mahipal Lomror (32) and Cameron Green (27) chipped in too with the bat as Bengaluru finished just over 170 runs.
For Rajasthan, Avesh Khan bagged a three-wicket haul, and senior off-spinner Ravi Ashwin took two scalps.
While chasing 173, Rajasthan openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore stitched an opening partnership of 46 runs before Kohler-Cadmore departed for 20 runs in the sixth over of the innings. Jaiswal played a good knock of 45 runs in 30 balls. RR skipper Sanju Samson couldn’t get going in his knock of 17 runs in 13 balls.
Dhruv Jurel got run out courtesy of Virat Kohli’s sensational fielding effort in the 14th over. Towards the end, Riyan Parag played a terrific knock of 36 runs in 26 balls under pressure. RR’s Impact Player Shimron Hetmyer made a vital contribution in the end, scoring 26 runs in 14 balls before Rovman Powell finished the chase with four wickets left and six balls to spare.
With this victory, the Sanju Samson-led RR advanced to Qualifier 2. They will meet Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 24 in Chennai.
IPL 2024: Most Runs (Orange Cap)

RR’s Riyan Parag, who scored 36 runs against RCB in the Eliminator clash, moved up to third spot and now has 567 runs to his name. RCB’s Virat Kohli extended his lead at the top with 741 runs now. He is likely to end up with the Orange Cap.
On the other hand, Chennai skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad ended his campaign with 583 runs to his name. He is currently ranked second. SRH opener Travis Head remained at fourth spot with 533 runs to his name. Head and Parag can add more runs to their tally when their respective sides face each other on May 24.
Gujarat’s young sensation Sai Sudharsan finished his campaign with 527 runs. Sudharsan is currently ranked fifth.
IPL 2024: Most Wickets (Purple Cap)

After the end of the high-voltage Eliminator match, Rajasthan’s leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal joined Natarajan as the fifth-highest wicket-taker with 18 scalps, but since Chahal has a worse economy than Natarajan, he’s placed sixth in the Purple Cap Leaderboard.
Punjab Kings pacer Harshal Patel continues to stay at the top with 24 wickets. Harshal’s campaign has already ended in the ongoing tournament. Mumbai Indians’ (MI) speedster Jasprit Bumrah is ranked second with 20 scalps.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Varun Chakaravarthy is placed third with 20 wickets. It is to be noted that Varun can add more wickets to his tally as his franchise will play the IPL 2024 final on May 26.
PBKS’ Arshdeep Singh finds himself in the fourth position with 19 wickets. Like Harshal Patel, Arshdeep’s campaign has also ended in the ongoing IPL 2024. Sunrisers Hyderabad left-arm pacer T Natarajan is slotted at the fifth spot with 18 wickets.
