Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut on Sunday against Kolkata Knight Riders.

After a long wait in the dugout, Arjun Tendulkar finally got his opportunity in the Indian Premier League. Father Sachin Tendulkar was on the sidelines watching his son bowling the first over in the IPL 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium. Arjun bowled two overs for 17 runs in his first ever IPL game. Sachin has now opened up about his son’s debut in the league. Sachin was extremely happy with Arjun’s performance in his first game. Sachin has been part of Mumbai Indians since its inception in 2008.

In a video released by IPL, Sachin expressed his emotions and said, “It is a different feeling because 2008 was the first season for me and 16 years down the line, he is playing for the same team, not bad”. Sachin played till 2013 for MI and since then he joined Mumbai’s support staff as a Mentor. Sachin also revealed that he has never seen his son play in any game. This is for the first time Sachin has watched him bowl for any team. Being a lucky father, Sachin was on the sidelines in the dressing room.

First experience for Sachin as well

Former Indian Captain Sachin Tendulkar said, “This was a new experience for me because till now I have not actually gone and watched him play”. Before the Toss, Sachin had a chat with his son Arjun. Talking about that he said, “I just wanted him to have the freedom to go out and express himself and do whatever he wanted to”. Arjun bowled his first over nicely and disturbed KKR openers. Sachin Tendulkar watched the game from the Dressing room to avoid cameras that could make Arjun nervous during the game.

Mumbai Indians won their second consecutive game in the IPL 2023. MI had a wonderful chase of 186 runs against KKR. This was something that went missing from MI’s campaign in the IPL 2022. Mumbai will travel to Hyderabad for their next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday.
