Watch: Will Young’s absolute stunner of a catch near the boundary rope in 1st NZ v BAN ODI in Dunedin

Will Young won player of the match award for his century in the first ODI against Bangladesh.
Will Young of New Zealand had an excellent day in the first ODI against Bangladesh which was played in Dunedin on December 17, 2023. New Zealand won the first match which was affected by rain and shortened to 30 overs per side.

Will Young takes a breath-taking catch at the boundary
Young took one of the most amazing catches you’ll see, with Bangladesh 174-7 in the 25th over.
Moving backward at deep square leg, Young jumped in the air to catch a high-hit ball with one hand, plummeting down to the University Oval turf and somehow avoiding contact with the boundary rope.
Shoriful Islam was sent back for five after the catch was reviewed to see if Young had indeed avoided the rope.
“I didn’t quite know what happened there. It went really high, then as it was coming down, it kept going away from me. I stuck [a] hand out, and somehow it stuck in my hand. It was good to get the wicket for Milney. He looked pretty shocked on the replay,” Young told TVNZ after being awarded player of the match.
