The five franchises of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), on November 6, 2025, revealed their player retention and releases ahead of the WPL 2026 mega auction. The mega auction ahead of the next edition of the WPL will be held on November 27 in New Delhi.

The important first stage in determining the competitive balance and auction dynamics for the next season is the WPL 2026 retentions and releases. Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India who won the World Cup, was kept by MI, although she came in second on the list, with England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt at the top. Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney, two foreign players, were retained by the Gujarat Giants.

UP Warriorz hit the reset button and only retained Shweta Sehrawat, and surprised everyone by releasing Deepti Sharma.
