Unfortunately, the list keeps growing as the tournament enters the main stages.

Playing at the FIFA World Cup is a player's dream, but not all get the chance to bring that dream to life. Those that do, cherish it as the most memorable memory of their career. But as in all things, there are the good, the bad, and the unfortunate. In football too, unfortunately, players often miss the FIFA World Cup — despite being in top form — due to injuries. At the FIFA World Cup 2022 also there are players who have been luckless with injuries.

Some of these players have awfully been ruled out just days before the tournament kicked off in Qatar. Few after playing for just a couple of minutes, some maybe after a game.

These players were initially part of the original 26-member squads that travelled to Qatar. However, their campaign fell short due to injuries. Most of these players have now been replaced, while coaches of some teams have opted against naming replacements.

Here is a list of players who arrived in Qatar, but have been ruled out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 with injuries.
