Only two teams remain in the prestigious cup competition

At Wembley, Manchester United defeated Brighton 7-6 in penalty kicks to go to the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

The Algerian international made Wembley history by becoming the first man to score three goals in an FA Cup semi-final since 1958.

It was the perfect end to a fantastic week for City, who also advanced to the semifinals of the Champions League and watched championship challenger Arsenal lose further ground in the key matchup against them on Wednesday.

Mahrez was particularly happy to put an end to City's recent FA Cup semi-final woes after losses to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool over the previous three years.

In the FA Cup final, City will face their neighbours Manchester United, who overcame Brighton on penalties.

Prior to Victor Lindelof's conversion to seal the victory for United, Solly March missed his penalty kick over the crossbar.

After extra time, the score remained 0-0. Brighton had opportunities to come out on top, but David de Gea stopped Alexis Mac Allister, Julio Enciso, and March.

Late in the game, United's Marcus Rashford came close to winning it, but Seagulls custodian Robert Sanchez produced an outstanding save.

Manchester United defeated Brighton on penalties to go to the semi-final on Sunday. The winner will now play City in the championship match.

Our most recent encounter at Wembley resulted in a 1-0 victory in the 2011 semi-final, making this the first Manchester derby in a significant final.

This will be the first time the Manchester rivals meet in a FA Cup final.
