The Norwegian currently has 34 goals in the ongoing campaign

The Premier League is regarded as one of the toughest and the most competitive leagues in the world, attracting rising talents to come and nourish. Over the years, Premier League has shown the quality of the league, players, managers, and teams with some incredible matchups. Even though the Premier League is considered the hardest league to ever score in, many players around the world have dreamt of doing that including the likes of famous and renowned players such as Sergio Aguero, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Fernando Torres.

Alan Shearer and Andy Cole are the players who have scored the most goals in a Premier League season and were able to achieve this milestone. The Premier League back in their time was a 42-game League in which both were able to score 34 goals each, Andy Cole in the 93-94 season and Alan Shearer in the 94-95 season. Since then, many players have tried breaking that record and only a few have come close.

One such name is Erling Haaland, since his signing from Borussia Dortmund he has resolved Manchester City’s long-time issue of having a proper instinctive Number 9. He has transformed the former champions into a team that is not easy to beat and playing alongside Kevin De Bruyne has helped him score more goals this season, being Haaland’s first season in the Premier League he has almost achieved everything.

One of the milestones he has achieved this season is breaking the record of scoring more goals in a 38-game Premier League season which was held by Mo Salah since the 2017-2018 season in which Salah scored 32 goals. The number of goals that Haaland has scored this season is unmatched.

Erling Haaland can break the record against West Ham

As we are approaching the end of the season Manchester City still has to play 6 more games, there is a possibility that Erling Haaland could eventually break the All-Time Premier League record officially set by the Hall of Fame inductees.

Manchester City’s win last night against Fulham saw Haaland equal the record of the legends scoring 34 goals with a handful of games still left to play and this Thursday against West Ham will be a great opportunity to be the only player to ever score more goals in a premier league season than Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. Etihad Stadium and all the football fans around the world will wait for this Thursday and it won’t be shocking to see Etihad, Pep Guardiola buzzing and rooting that night for the Goal scoring Machine.
