Top five best North London derby matches of all time

This is one of the biggest derby matches in football
Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspurs, popularly known as the North London Derby is one of the most famous derbies in the world.
Both Premier League clubs are situated in North London and have a fierce clash between them whenever they meet. Arsenal over-all has had a bigger lead winning more matches, trophies and also have a bigger fanbase. Despite this there have been various clashes over the years which are considered iconic.
5. Tottenham Hotspurs 0 - 1 Arsenal (1971)
A match which not many know about but holds a lot of significance in the Gunner's history. Back then Tottenham Hotspurs were the only English team to have completed the double. They had won the FA Cup and First Division title (now Premier League) in the same season.
In 1971, Arsenal completed the double joining Tottenham Hotspurs as another English club to win both titles in the same season. The best part is that Arsenal did this and clinched the title at White Hart Lane. Ray Kennedy's goal played a crucial role in securing Arsenal's title.
4. Tottenham Hotspurs 2 - 2 Arsenal ( 2004)
Whenever one talks about Arsenal's history, their "Invincibles" team is always mentioned. The " Invincibles" team or Arsenal's undefeated run in the 2003/04 season was one of the most iconic title winning seasons. As rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs tried their best to end their winning streak.
Arsenal were leading and dominating the match by 2 goals but eventually squandered their lead. The match ended in a draw as Tottenham Hotspurs managed to score 2 goals. However they failed to end their undefeated streak and Arsenal celebrated winning the Premier League at White Hart Lane.
3. Tottenham Hotspurs 4 - 5 Arsenal
Following up Arsenal's Invincible title winning season, the Gunners managed to beat Tottenham yet again. This game had no direct correlation with Tottenham or Arsenal winning the Premier League title but it was a very entertaining match.
What makes this match more interesting is that the score was 1-1 at half-time. The remaining seven goals were scored in the second half. Robert Pires scored Arsenal's 5th goal in the 81st minute. Tottenham Hotspur's Frederic Kanoute managed to score a late 4th goal to put pressure on the Gunners but failed to win the match.
2. Arsenal 2 - 3 Tottenham Hotspurs (2010)
This was an iconic match for Tottenham Hotspurs as Arsenal were managing to win consistently over the years. Moreover Tottenham Hotspurs had never won a match at Emirates. In the 2009/10 season, Arsenal were sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League table.
As usual the stakes were tipped towards Arsenal but they fumbled a 2 goal lead against Tottenham Hotspurs. Tottenham Hotspurs managed to win their first match at Emirates after completing a three goal comeback.
1. Tottenham Hotspurs 4 - 2 Arsenal (1961)
Ever since 2008, Tottenham Hotspurs have set a poor narrative for themselves. The Lilywhites have not won a single trophy since 2008. However back in 1961, they broke a record and they did so in style against their rivals.
In the 1960-61 season, Tottenham Hotspurs were ten points clear sitting comfortably at the top. Tottenham Hotspurs faced Arsenal in a heated North London derby and beat them 4-2. What makes this feat more commendable that they then went on to win the League title and FA Cup in the same season. This made them the second team at the time to do so and first since Aston Villa won the double in 1882.
