Arsenal vs Brighton: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast
The Gunners host The Seagulls at home in Premier League 2023-24 Matchday 17
Arsenal will be looking to get their Premier League title bid back on track with a win over Brighton and Hove Albion but won’t get it easy against Roberto De Zerbi’s great entertainers. Arteta rested most of his big hitters for the midweek Champions League dead rubber with PSV Eindhoven but the Gunners still managed a creditable 1-1 draw. Arsenal have also had two days more to prepare for this game than Brighton and Hove Albion, who brought the curtain down on their maiden Europa League group campaign against Marseille on Thursday night.
De Zerbi has heavily rotated his squad yet results have still been good, with the Seagulls only losing once in the league since a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in mid-October. This will be a mouth-watering clash for the fans and will be a very important fixture for both teams.
Kick-Off:
Sunday; 17th Dec, 2023; 07:30 PM (IST), 02:00 PM (GMT), 09:00 AM (EST)
Location: Emirates Stadium
From
Arsenal Form (All Competitions): D-L-W-W-W
Brighton Form (All Competitions): D-W-L-W-W
Players to Watch
Jorginho (Arsenal FC)
Jorginho controls the tempo of play from deep, links defence with midfield and midfield with attack, and moves laterally across the pitch to receive short passes wherever possible. He can play as the single pivot in a three or as part of a double pivot. He has the awareness, vision and passing ability to break lines, and he is also particularly skilled at lofting balls in behind from deep to put a teammate in. He offers security in possession and operates as a point through which his team can recycle possession before changing their point of attack.
Evan Ferguson (Brighton)
Ferguson looks like the archetypal modern striker, an energetic and agile centre-forward who scores goals but is also comfortable coming deep to link play. He stands out in part for his clever movements to receive between the lines, where he then receives on the half-turn and more often than not looks immediately for a shooting opportunity.
This mentality ensures he maintains a constant threat on goal, while also adding flexibility and fluidity to his team’s front line. He can adjust his body quickly and effectively to work himself the best possible shooting opportunity.

Nothing will change in Brighton’s usual approach. They will attack the Gunners and try to dominate. De Zerbi will play for a win in this match, but a draw would also be a strong result. Having played vs Marseille on Thursday, fatigue will be a big factor. But the home side will overcome the challenge and will get all three points.
