Odisha FC will be eager to add to their trophy cabinet and build on their progress under Sergio Lobera.

Odisha FC won the Super Cup in 2023 and made it to the finals this year for the second successive time before losing to East Bengal. The Kalinga Warriors also finished in the fourth spot in the ISL but were halted in the semi-finals by Mohun Bagan Super Giant

Former domestic double winner with Mumbai City, Sergio Lobera, has overseen massive changes at the helm. The primary was an overhaul of former players like Amey Ranawade, Amrinder Singh, and Ahmed Jahouh.

He has shaped the current squad around that core group and even added to it with the likes of another former player, Hugo Boumous. The Spaniard has a direct plan of action at the club.

Let’s try to figure out the specifics as we see all transfers completed by Odisha FC so far in the 2024-2025 summer window:

Incomings

Hugo Boumous

After having limited game time under Juan Ferrando, the French Moroccan midfielder grew frustrated and chose to join his favorite manager at Odisha instead, this season. Despite the theatrics, Boumous is a dextrous midfielder who can burst out skills from his locker in the tightest of spaces and score.

On his day, the former FC Goa and Mumbai City attacker can be a menace and has a magnificent tally of 30 goals and 32 assists in 103 appearances as testament.

Raynier Fernandes

Raynier’s style of play didn’t exactly complement Manolo Marquez’s tactics last season at FC Goa and he has also decided to reunite with his former acquaintances.

Despite playing a majority of the Gaurs’ games, the creative midfielder didn’t hit the ground running unlike in ISL 2022-23 when Lobera got a good four assists out of the experienced box-to-box midfielder.

Amey Ranawade

Odisha’s arrivals this season look like a homesick bunch of kids, such is the sheer charisma of the Spanish head coach. Amey Ranawade is the next player enchanted and motivated by that promise as the right-back had his record output last season for Odisha as he registered one goal and six assists.

Rohit Kumar

The former Bengaluru FC midfielder joined the Kalinga Warriors looking for greener pastures and a chance to compete for trophies. With over 4000 minutes of action in the ISL, Rohit last won the Durand Cup in 2022.

Givson Singh

The young attacking midfielder returned from Kerala Blasters after an unfruitful loan spell. Givson had gone to the Tuskers hoping for some more game time but he came back sharper as he had already provided two goals and an assist for Odisha in the Durand Cup in a single game.

Outgoings

CY Goddard

Tottenham Hotspurs academy graduate CY Goddard returned to the ISL with the Juggernauts last season. The Japanese midfielder, however, failed to impress with only one goal and two assists in 26 appearances and his contract was not renewed.

Princeton Rebello

The once-promising FC Goa midfielder and Queens Park Rangers U15 player only has one goal and an assist over 35 appearances in two seasons for Odisha FC. Princeton left for Punjab FC as his contract at the club ended.

Aniket Jadhav

The ISL winner with Hyderabad FC hasn’t exactly found his feet after his move away from the Nizams in 2022. With Odisha, Aniket Jadhav has only managed one goal and left for a new destination as he will be playing for Jamshedpur FC this season.

Hitesh Sharma

Like Vinit Rai a season back, Juggernauts midfielder Hitesh Sharma has moved to Mumbai City FC after only joining the club in the winter transfer window last season.

Sahil Panwar

The versatile fullback made only two appearances for Odisha last season as either Vignesh Dakshinamurthy or Jerry Lalrinzuala would be vying for the starter berth with the other getting subbed on. Sahil joined Hitesh at Mumbai City in a bid to play more games.

Michael Soosairaj

Once a cutthroat winger in his ATK days, Michael Soosairaj was never the same after his injury. The left-footed ambidextrous attacker is no longer his faking-and-cutting-either-side self that earned him the praise as he only made eight appearances in the last two seasons for Odisha FC and left for Gokulam Kerala in this window.

Lalthuammawia Ralte

The 31-year-old goalkeeper’s contract at Odisha FC ran out and he decided that Bengaluru FC would prefer his services as a rotational shot-stopper.

Shubham Sarangi

After a year without action, 24-year-old right-back, Shubham Sarangi decided to move to Jamshedpur FC.

Pranjal Bhumij

The 25-year-old attacker was fielded in positions where he wasn’t habituated to play in and after failing to prove his versatility, the club decided to not renew his contract.

Vignesh Dakshinamurthy

The former Mumbai City left-back moved to the Juggernauts on loan from Hyderabad FC last season. Despite playing the majority of matches, Sergio Lobera decided to let him return to his parent club.
