Mumbai City FC will be eyeing a revenge over Mohun Bagan in the ISL final.

Mumbai City FC have eliminated FC Goa and have booked a meeting with Mohun Bagan in the ultimate game in Kolkata. The Islanders were certainly the better team on the night as they brought their A-game to the table and showed FC Goa the way out.

They hit the woodwork a couple of times and were clearly the better side in every aspect of the game. It was a dominant performance from Petr Kratky’s men, and with this win the Islanders have extended their unbeaten run against FC Goa to 12 games.

On that note, let us take a look at the talking points from the game.

3. Yoel van Nieff set to miss ISL final

While the Islanders will be on cloud nine for having made it to the final for the first time since 2021, they do have a big point of concern. Mumbai City FC’s star midfielder Yoel van Nieff is all set to miss the grand finale, having picked up a booking early in the game against FC Goa. The Dutchman has been a crucial part of Petr Kratky’s system and his absence will surely be a big miss for the City Football Group-owned outfit.

2. Diaz and Chhangte send Mumbai City FC into the final

Jorge Pereyra Diaz missed the first leg due to a suspension, but came back with a bang in the second leg and destroyed FC Goa’s hopes. The Argentine striker was a live-wire for the Islanders up front and opened the scoring in the second half. Lallianzuala Chhangte became Mumbai City FC’s hero yet again as he added the second goal and put the game to bed.

1. Mumbai City FC eye revenge

The two-time league winners have confirmed a meeting with Mohun Bagan in the ISL final with the hope to settle scores. The Islanders almost had their hands on their third ISL Shield title, until Mohun Bagan decided to turn the tables around with a 2-1 win in Kolkata. Petr Kratky and his team will be keen to take revenge of what happened the last time they visited the City of Joy.
