Super Cup 2025-2026: Updated Group Standings after Bengaluru FC vs Punjab FC

East Bengal FC, FC Goa, and Punjab FC have qualified for the semi-finals of the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26.

Punjab FC are through to the semifinals of the Super Cup 2025-26 after beating Bengaluru FC in an intense penalty shoot-out (5-4). The match ended in a goalless draw after 90 minutes.

Goa is hosting the AIFF Super Cup 2025–2026. The competition began on October 25, 2025, and will conclude with the grand final on November 22, 2025.

But on Wednesday, 5, 2025, AIFF emailed the football federation of Goa that the semifinals will be played on 4th December, 2025. Eventually, the final will be held on the 7th of the same month at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.

This season, there are 16 teams divided into 4 groups of 4. The roster includes three I-League teams, Gokulam Kerala, Rajasthan United, and Dempo SC, and 13 ISL clubs. After Real Kashmir pulled out of the league due to financial issues, Dempo SC entered in their place.

Only group winners advance to the semifinals, which makes every point and every goal crucial in this year’s tournament. With the group stages coming to an end, and three teams already securing a spot for the knockouts, it will be exciting to see who from Group D qualifies.

That being said, let’s take a look at the standings of the four Groups in the Super Cup.

Group A

Teams in Group A

  • East Bengal FC
  • Mohun Bagan Super Giant
  • Dempo SC (replacement for Real Kashmir)
  • Chennaiyin FC

The Red and Gold Brigade from Group A already sealed their place in the semifinals after knocking out their arch-rivals, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, last week, after the Kolkata Derby ended in a stalemate (0-0). East Bengal just went ahead of the Mariners due to their (+4) goal difference. East Bengal FC will face Punjab FC in the semifinals.

On the other hand, Mohun Bagan Super Giant needs to fix the fitness issues of their foreign recruits before the upcoming ISL. Their campaign was not as impressive as last season when they won both the ISL League Shield and ISL Cup. Fans expected more from their favourite team, but this time they have failed to deliver.

Dempo SC showed a lot of promise after their comeback into Indian Football with their academy boys. But Chennaiyin FC  needs to fix several problems under the guidance of Clifford Miranda before the ISL begins.

Group B

Teams in Group B

  • FC Goa
  • North East United FC
  • Jamshedpur FC
  • Inter Kashi

Although FC Goa lost their last match against NorthEast United FC (2-1), the defending champions FC Goa have already booked their semifinal spot after two dominant wins — 2-0 vs Jamshedpur FC and 3-0 vs Inter Kashi.

Meanwhile, NorthEast United FC, the 2025 Durand Cup champions, after sharing points with Inter Kashi and Jamshedpur FC in their first two matches, won against the Group C and defending Super Cup Champions, FC Goa, on 1st November (2-1) and ended their campaign on a positive note before the ISL.

Jamshedpur FC, after losing to Goa and sharing points with NorthEast United, won their last match against Inter Kashi (2-0) and ended their campaign on a positive note as well before the ISL.

For Inter Kashi, the newly-promoted ISL side and reigning I-League champions, it’s been a promising debut. Despite missing head coach Antonio López Habas, they’ve shown determination under Abhijit Mondal.

They have lost their last match against Jamshedpur FC, but they will surely bounce back once their foreign recruits join the team before the ISL.

Teams in Group C

  • Punjab FC
  • Bengaluru FC
  • Mohammedan SC
  • Gokulam Kerala

There was nothing to differentiate between the two clubs, Punjab FC and Bengaluru FC, after their first two group stage matches. They stood on the same podium in terms of points and goal difference.

They faced each other today, and the match ended in a goalless draw after 90 minutes. According to Rule 12.2.3.2.4.3 of the competition, the clash went to the penalty shootouts. Punjab FC won in a penalty shootout (5–4), eliminating Bengaluru FC from the tournament. Ryan Williams missed the penalty kick for Bengaluru FC.

Struggle continues for Mohammedan SC both off and on the field. They lost all their group stage matches without scoring a goal. They need to fix several problems before the ISL starts.

Meanwhile, Gokulam Kerala suffered setbacks in their opening games but bounced back against Mohammedan SC with a thumping win (3-0).

Punjab FC will face Oscar Bruzon’s East Bengal FC in the semi-finals on 4th December 2025, at Fatorda Stadium at 4:30 pm.

Kerala Blasters FC

Teams in Group D

  • Mumbai City FC
  • Rajasthan United FC
  • Kerala FC
  • Sporting Delhi

Kerala Blasters FC are at the top of Group D currently after Rajasthan United FC defeated Mumbai City FC in their last match. Kerala Blasters have won both their matches so far.

Mumbai City FC began their campaign stunningly. They defeated Sporting Delhi 4-1. But lost against the I-League side Rajasthan United in their last match (1-0).

While Sporting Club Delhi have been knocked out of the competition after failing to open their account after the first two group stage matches. Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City will face off on November 6 in the ultimate Group D fixture.

Rajasthan United and SC Delhi will also lock horns on the same day. A win for Kerala will confirm their knockout berth.

If Mumbai City FC and Rajasthan United win their matches, it will depend on head-to-head goal difference, as all three will have beaten one of the three once.
