East Bengal Club in ISL
East Bengal Club finished ninth in the ISL 2020-21 season, led by head coach Robbie Fowler. As a result, at the start of the 2021-22 season, he was replaced by Manolo Diaz, but the team did not perform as expected.
Due to the Spaniard's poor start to the season, the club fired him and replaced him with assistant coach Renedy Singh as interim coach. The club administration chose Mario Rivera as their head coach because Renedy does not have an AFC Pro License. Three different coaches had a negative impact on their results, and as a result, they finished last in the table with only one win in 20 games.
Officials from the club have already begun putting together their squad for next season. Nabi Hussain Khan, Mahitosh Roy, Dip Saha, Suryash Jaiswal, and Aditya Patra are already in advanced talks with them. The Kolkata Club has also signed ISL players like Mohammed Rakip and Ivan Gonzalez.
They've already formed a strategic partnership with Bangladesh's Sheikh Russel Krirachakra. They've put together a scouting team made up of former players to look for talent in the I-League and the Santosh Trophy.
For the upcoming season, the club has already begun talks with several ISL players and well-known coaches. They are also on the verge of confirming their investor, and will most likely do so in the third week of May.
