East Bengal in talks with ex-Bengaluru FC youth goalkeeper Aditya Patra

Former Bengaluru FC youth team goalkeeper Aditya Patra is in talks with East Bengal to sign for next season. The 21-year old custodian from West Bengal is on the club’s radar for the next ISL and other tournaments.
A source close to the development informed Khel Now that, “East Bengal have initiated talks with the player and are interested to sign him for the upcoming season, although its subject to clearances.”

About the Player
Aditya Patra started his football career with the AIFF Elite Academy. He moved on to play for the Bengaluru FC reserves team in 2017. In his 16 appearances in the Second Division League for BFC reserves. He conceded 11 goals and kept eight clean-sheets for his team. Also, he represented BFC reserves on two occasions in the Durand Cup, where he conceded three goals. He was a member of the Bengaluru FC squad that won the ISL 2018-19 season, but did not play a game.
He was the part of national U-16 side in 2015-16 and has also represented the U-19 side in 2017.
SC East Bengal in ISL
SC East Bengal ended their ISL 2020-21 season in ninth position, led by head coach Robbie Fowler. As a result, he was replaced by Manolo Diaz ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. However, the team did not achieve the expected results.
Due to poor performances at the start of the season, the club parted company with the Spaniard and appointed assistant coach Renedy Singh as the interim coach. However, because Renedy lacks an AFC Pro License, the SCEB administration chose to employ Mario Rivera as their head coach.

Changing coaches three times had a negative influence on their results and as a consequence, they finished at the bottom of the table, with only one win in 20 games.
Club officials have already started preparing their squad for next season. They are already in advanced talks with Nabi Hussain Khan, Mahitosh Roy, Dip Saha, and Suryash Jaiswal. They have already signed a strategic partnership with Sheikh Russel Krirachakra of Bangladesh.
They've assembled a scouting team of former players to identify prospects from the I-League and Santosh Trophy. The club are already in talks with several ISL players and reputed coaches for the upcoming season.
